Bio BethAnne Clayton is the real deal. The daughter of Tommy Clayton who toured with the group Sons of the Purple Sage with the Lone Ranger, BethAnne began singing four part harmonies with her sisters at the age of four. By fourteen, they had a new addition to the family – a piano. Self-taught, BethAnne began writing songs and performing at charity events, telethons and talent shows as well as singing with her family in church. She was soon discovered by WYNY, the country radio station in New York and she became their featured artist, performing with such acts as Tracy Byrd, Ty Herndon, Chris LeDoux and Marty Stuart to name just a few. BethAnne relocated from her native New Jersey to Nashville, Tennessee, committed to achieving her life long dream of being a country singer and songwriter. Following in the footsteps of people like Trisha Yearwood, she began singing demos for the top songwriters and publishing companies in town, while continuing to write her own songs and create her own unique styleA natural talent, BethAnne can play just about any instrument that you hand her, but it’s her love of harmonies that led her to perform with Queen of Hearts, a four woman group of singer/songwriters whose popularity is growing. Most often she performs for thousands annually, going nationwide with her own band performing an energetic blend of original country and rock music.
BandBethAnne Currently performs solo, with her band or in a duo. Double Play is an actively performing duo consisting of BethAnne Clayton and George Ott. While performing in this two-piece ensemble, BethAnne and George pre-record their bass and drums and accompany the tracks with live piano, guitar, and vocals to deliver a full sound. They mix a unique blend of pop, country, and rock original and cover tunes which satisfy every audience’s listening and dancing desires. For decades, George Ott has been a mainstay of the Jersey Shore music scene. At one time or another, George has worked with just about everyone, most notably the Grand Canyon Band, which was managed by Carl "Tinker" West, former manager of Bruce Springsteen. George has worked with various artists and as a solo act in both Florida and New Jersey. In the early 1990s, George joined BethAnne in "The BethAnne Clayton Band" as guitarist and singer, and played many gigs in New York, New Jersey, and Nashville, including a weekly performance that was broadcast live on New York's former country music station, WYNY, from Mickey Mantle's in New York. Currently, George plays guitar and sings with BethAnne in their duo act, Double Play. At his home recording studio, George produces—without use of computers—all of the backing tracks for Double Play's performances.
Music With two self-released CDs and a growing list of believers, it’s easy to see why BethAnne Clayton is the real deal. She is now accepting orders for her new CD, "Who I Am Today," featuring twelve new tracks! You can purchase the new album online or at Jack's Music in Red Bank, NJ.Flower
