I appreciate when people in the music biz have an own taste, signs and plays music they like themselves. In general I like to meet creative, funny and honest people.
I guess the melodies, harmonies and catchy lyrics of ABBA have influenced me a lot in all my music experiences. I..m more songs oriented than into artists or styles these days. From my vast list of great artists and musicians, I have to mention a few: Beatles, Ramones, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Yes, Rush, Genesis, Mike Oldfield, Queen, Journey, Supertramp, anything produced by Trevor Horn or released at ZTT, Yello, Howard Jones, Lightning Seeds, Blondie, Eurythmics, Black, John Waite, Steve Winwood, Sade, Norah Jones, David Foster..s all work, "Mutt" Lange for his work with Def Leppard and Shania Twain. Voices: Glenn Hughes, Ann Wilson, Elvis Costello, Aretha Franklin. Guitars: Randy Rhoads, Edward Van Halen, John Norum, Gary Moore. Drums: Neil Peart. Albums: MikeRutherford "Smallcreep..s Day", Mike Pinera "Isla", AC/DC "Back In Black" and the self titled albums by Silver and John Kongos. Songs: City Boy "The Day The Earth Caught Fire", Michael McDonald "I Keep Forgettin..", Mr.Mister "On Broken Wings", Toto "Africa", Police "Every Breath You Take", No Doubt "Don..t Speak".I also would like to list some bands from my hometown Eskilstuna during 1978-1987 when I had my most active period playing in bands. Especially these made an impact on me; Arne Kvarn, Avenue, Chrystal Pride, King, Lazy, Milkmen, Minx (S.S Dase), Torch, Sherekan, Vino Veritas. At least half a dozen band members have later had success in the music- or in the media industry.
Deer Hunter, Signs Of Things To Come, The Shining, Warriors, Lonesome Dove, Blues Brothers, The World According To Garp, Lord Of The Ring, Pulp Fiction, The Green Mile, Once Upon A Time In America.
The Office, Absolutely Fabulous, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder, most by Fredrik Lindström, thriller, action, sports.
I must admit it..s more music industry mags than books for me. I..ve read most of John Irving though.
All the people out there who have as proffession to save other lives.
