Captain Roots is one of the Leicester's upcoming artists who started focusing a career in music since Summer 2006. Gifted with the ability to sing, songwrite, rap and know his way around basic music production programs, Captain Roots is steadily progressing not just as an artist but as an individual.
Captain Roots was part of a youth singing group called Fresh Inspiration for over 7 years. He gives a great THANKYOU to everyone who participated in the group as it not only built his voice but his confidence to express his musical side. [F.I. Crew ;)]
Since then, Captain Roots is now part of a known and growing group based in Leicester by the name of Loose Talent since roughly Summer 2007. His initial career path in music was to become a Rapper / MC, but after some searching he has realised that - his many other talents shouldn't be laid to waste as they are all gifts.
Whilst still in Loose Talent, Captain Roots has been managing [more like advising] a collective of young singers based in Leicester in their paths of music. This is a non-profit act of generosity that Captain Roots has put together to help those who need that starting PUSH to get on track, as he knows how much a little bit of support can go a
l o n g way!Captain Roots now tackles or will tackle as many genres as possible, such as: UK Garage, Grime, Dubstep, Hip Hop, RnB, Bassline, Acoustic, Funky House. He has also already released his first mixtape "Twisted Roots Volume 1" which contains a range of his popular songs like 'Cultural Girl', 'Stush-A-Lush' and 'Cheese On It', which were all remixes from famous artists. [Inspiration is inspiration ;)]
So far Captain Roots has not collaborated with many artists, but has met the likes of Chipmunk & Wretch 32 on artist-based business. [Hopefully more to come very soon ;)]
You can normally hear Captain Roots singing through Leicester's town area or bussing a funky skank. If not, be sure to find him in your local Maryland with a strip burger in his hand.
