Corbin/Hanner BioBob Corbin and Dave Hanner have been singing and playing together since they were in high school. But they don't just make music together, they write the songs they sing. And they write the songs others sing, too. Aside from the seven CD's they've released over the years, their songs have been recorded by numerous other artists and many can be heard on several multi-platinum CDs. From Alabama to Lee Ann Womack, Don Williams to Kenny Rogers, Nashville artists have been recording Bob and Dave's songs for a long time. It's not a bad track record for two guys from Pittsburgh.Bob and Dave grew up in Ford City, a small town north of Pittsburgh, and migrated to the city after college. They formed a rock band, Gravel, and with their own songs and intricate harmonies quickly became one of the city's biggest draws and were signed by Columbia Records.Gravel evolved into The Corbin/Hanner Band. As The Corbin/Hanner Band, Bob and Dave's songs gravitated toward country rock and their popularity grew. Two albums were released on Alfa Records, (For The Sake of The Song and Son of America) and The Corbin/Hanner Band started several years of touring with well-known country artists. But Bob and Dave grew tired of the road and returned to Pittsburgh to write songs. Those songs were well received in Nashville, and after a string of 1 hits by major country artists, they released two CDs on Mercury Records as Corbin/Hanner. (Black & White Photograph and Just Another Hill) Three of their singles reached into the thirties on the national country charts and "Work Song" became a much requested Monday morning staple on radio stations around the country.Corbin/Hanner also has Every Stanger Has A Story, a Live CD recorded at the Palomino Club in Los Angeles; plus three CDs on their own Lil Red Hen label. They are currently working on a new CD that will be out in the Spring/Summer of '08!
