Karen is a "true" Country Singer/Songwriter with a catalog of over 5000 songs to her credit. She has been a B.M.I music publisher since 1980, and has her own music company "Karen Kaylee Music Group BMI" . She also has her own record labels. "Ka-Lee Records..Kerrie Lynn Records...KaRon records" .KaRon will be distributed overseas next year. Karen has opened for artist such as "Tom T Hall'', The Kendalls'',''Billy Crash Craddock'' ''Hank Thompson'' She played at "Gilley's,Tug-Boat Annie's,Tootsies Orchid Lounge,Johnny Lee's and The Tennessee State Fair" to name a few. In 1980 Karen signed with bell-ringer records. This took her many times to "Nashville" , and to some of the best recording studios around. "Bradley's Barn'', ''Pete Drakes''',''The Music Mill'' . It was there that she met some of the finest musicians that played on her sessions, and also became her friends to this day. One wonderful talented steel player ''Mr.Lloyd Green'' . What a gentleman!!! what a player!!! I am proud to call him a friend. "Mr.Hargus'Pig' Robbins'' ....what can you say about this guy that has not been said? He has the played on every session around...as did Lloyd.The way that he "tickles those Ivories" .....its amazing!.Karen is very proud to call these folks her friends..Karen says they are tops! It was there that she recorded "The Bar-Stool","The juke box and Me","The Queen Of Country Music","Every time My Back Is Turned","My Turn" , which is the answer to ... "Good Hearted Woman" by "Waylon Jennings" .Then the record company contacted her and asked her if she could write a song and the music for a tribute to the seven astronauts that died on ''The Shuttle" . She did upon agreement that the proceeds would be donated to the "Christa McAuliffe Fund" . All proceeds went to a great cause(education). It was one of the hardest recording sessions, because "Flight Of The Challenger'' tells the whole story of what happened in a song. The local radio stations play this song every year to pay tribute to the crew we lost. In that same year Karen started her own Music Company, "Karen Kaylee Music" In the year 1990 Karen received "The Billboard Award" for the song "Whistlin' Joe" In 1992 Karen took a step out of the biz for a while for a good cause... "Doberman Rescue of Pennsylvania" At one time she had ten dogs and each dog had their own abuse story.She did this for many years.......She found them homes, ect..Then her heart called her back to where it was,.......In Country Music.In 2005 Karen went to Europe.It was there she met "Ron Steenwijk" . He is one of "Hollands" top steel guitar players.She married "The man of her dreams in 2006. Together they build K.R.S Steel Guitars.Karen and Ron are planning a tour in "Europe" next year. Karen, and Ron have a two piece band. Karen does everything with a complete keyboard system, and Ron Plays steel. Together they make up the show... "Heading Back To The Country" .....All Country!!!!
