Hi! I'm a 25 years old jazz pianist, keyboardist and composer from Lausanne, Switzerland. I currently live in Amsterdam where I am studying at the Amsterdam Conservatory and leading my trio
Amter, for which I compose and play acoustic piano.
Amter's music mixes lyrical
songs and groove-oriented jazz pieces.
We currently feature Matan Gov-Ari on trumpet, and we have played with French
violinist Didier Lockwood.
Our first album will be released on May 19, 2008.
I also regularly play with my trio (the
Gilles Estoppey Trio) in Switzerland, which recorded a live album in March 2008 (out in Fall 2008).
I have performed in the Netherlands with various artists, such as American singer Deborah Carter and the Millenium Jazz Orchestra conducted by Joan Reinders, Germano-Turkish singer Esra Dalfidan, Dutch french-hornist Morris Kliphuis - whom I accompanied for the Prinses Cristina Concours (Morris won the competition) and at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2007.
I also play keyboards, notably with
Red Cut - performances in Germany and Netherlands - and
Ogan Sadan Group, with whom I was on tour in Turkey in December 07 (for more info about these two bands, click below on
my friends).
Before coming to the Netherlands I lived in Cologne (Germany) for 4 months, where I had lessons from pianist Thomas Ruckert. In Switzerland, I studied for 3 years at the Montreux Jazz School with Swiss pianist Thierry Lang, and I studied classical piano with Argentinian pianist Erardo Vietti.
