About Me

MySpace Layouts MySpace Codes MySpace Backgrounds

I am a journalist/writer who moved with my family from Denmark in Europe to Ojai in California in June 2006. We stayed for 13 months. I have been published over 1,000 times in Europe and last Summer my first book SERENA was published in the United States. Please check out SERENA and let me know what you think.

I love sports and have been a sports writer for years. I played soccer for 11 years when I was a kid, and I even played American Football in Denmark, where my team - Herning Hawks - were crowned National Champions in 1990. I love football, and since most of my friends in the U.S. are from Denver the Broncos became my team. It is also the reason why I support the Avalanche and the Nuggets. The jury is still out on the Rockies, especially since I took my son to a Dodgers game. We do like the L.A. Dodgers. I have a passion for movies and I have reviewed movies for a number of years.

News is a natural passion for me, but I really do have a problem with the heavily biased media in the U.S. The way that some stories are covered is as bad as in Europe, and I used to think that we were the nutty feel-good liberals back there. My family and I have traveled to many European countries, and we particularly love Scotland and Italy. We also have a weak spot for England. Being from a country of only about 5.3 million people we have had to learn other languages. We speak Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English, German, Italian and some Spanish.

My Interests

Passion, truth, love, my wife's happiness, knowledge, words, communication, smiles on our children's faces, freedom, fair behavior, stimulating conversation, excellent food, views that take your breath away, grand movie experiences, slow music you can't sit still to, rhythmic music so harmonic you cannot move to it, wine that gives you goose bumps, original thoughts, the constant attempt of trying to get a 25th. hour into a day, speaking Italian without necessarily having had a drink, and above all, seeing my words give pleasure to others.

I'd like to meet:

I'm the kind of guy who always just wanted to live on a deserted island with my dog and a computer, so that I could write till my fingers bled. I was never a big fan of people, but I have come to understand the value of having good friends and people around me who understands my passion and respects me for who I am. I'd like to meet people with integrity and honor, people who like to read, people who live through their words and deeds, and people who have heart. I am also very interested in people with a great sense of humor and a healthy appetite for life.

Heroes:

I go by track record, so in politics it would have to be Franklin D. Roosevelt, Bobby Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and Rudy Giuliani. I also greatly admire economist Bjorn Lomborg and the world's finest economists who gathered at The Copenhagen Consesus to try and map out a way to deal with the worlds' problems. Whether you agree with them or not, it takes a lot of courage these days to go against the mainstream war machine of the environmentalist movement.

In sports my undivided tribute goes to the late, great Reggie White. In entertainment there are absolutely no heroes. In my family there is only one obvious choice, and this is going to sound corny, but it's my wife. I have never known anyone who can follow their dreams, pursue their careers, and take care of their family with such vigor and such devotion, and still be the person with the biggest heart and most integrity in the entire world. I wish I was half the person she is, and I am working on it every day.
