About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Truly, I'm just a big kid with adult responsibilities and have lots of CD's, books, comics and DVD's to prove it! LOL! I love to laugh more than anything, but finding new music is really close!
I love meeting people and making new friends with similar interests. I firmly believe that friendship is the greatest value you learn in this life, and I'm fortunate enough to have some exceptionally wonderful people to call friend.
Job-wise: I work in the telecommunications (phone) industry (it's NOT telemarketing) and have spent the last 13 years in customer service and account management roles.
Religion-wise: I was born and raised as a Catholic and still have faith, though I have issues with a lot of organized religion (I'm a recovering Catholic). I'm actually wanting to explore some spiritual avenues, but I can't stand how political and business-like most religions are.
Family-wise I'm the eldest of 4 kids, with 1 brother and 2 sisters. I also have 5 nephews. I now have 3 dogs: Baby, a 3+ year old Pek-a-poo (there's a picture of her with the rest of my pics); Coco, a 6+ year old Beagle; and Gambit a 2+ year old Chiuahua and terrier mix.
Personality-wise: I live by a lot of ideals and values surrounding being honest, and I've been told many times that I'm honest to a fault - sometimes, not a good thing. I'd like to think I'm a good person and friend, but I can only offer the opinions of others and the chance for people to get to know me and decide for themselves.
If you want to be friends, send me a message first and let me know why by introducing yourself!

My Interests

Vitamin Z - Burning Flame (original version).. width="425" height="350" ....

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people who like the stuff I like, as I'm not a big believer in the opposite attracts theory. While I know it exists because my parents were living proof of it, I think people spend way too much time focused in upon their differences.

I want to share what I'm passionate about: Music, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Food and MLB.

Life is far too short not to experience all you can within the confines of this world. It's far too beautiful to put limitations upon yourself.

I want to make new friends, and if that special someone comes along, so be it!

If you want to be friends, send me a message first and let me know why by introducing yourself!

Music:

MUSIC! I like a lot of genres and artists, including: New Wave / 80's Alternative (The Fixx, Squeeze, Icehouse, Ultravox / Midge Ure, Split Enz / Crowded House, Simple Minds, ABC, Glass Tiger, The Cure, The Essence, Alphaville, Big Country, The Psychedelic Furs, Echo & The Bunnymen, Prefab Sprout, Gary Numan - and lots more); Progressive Rock (old Genesis, Marillion, Fish, Pendragon, Ozric Tentacles, Spock's Beard, Porcupine Tree, The Flower Kings, Ayreon, Dream Theater, Symphony X, IQ, Pallas, Enchant, Evergrey, Nightwish - and lots more!); Country (Toby Keith, Clay Walker, Garth Brooks, Rascal Flatts, Buddy Jewell, Ronna Reeves, Suzy Bogguss, Reba McEntire, Mary Chapin Carpenter - and lots more!); R&B / Soul (Patti LaBelle, Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass, Alexander O'Neal, Earth, Wind & Fire, The O'Jays, Jeffrey Osborne, Randy Crawford, Al Green - and lots more!); Singer-Songwriters (John Hiatt, Michael McDermott, Anne Harris, Dar Williams, Pete Yorn, Marc Broussard, Franky Perez, Gavin DeGraw, Michael Tolcher, Shawn Pander, Tim Easton, Matt Nathanson, Carrie Newcomer, Julia Forham, Happy Rhodes, Paddy Casey, Jonathan Rice, Melissa Etheridge, Storyhill, Turin Brakes - and lots more!); Modern Rock (Coldplay, Travis, Embrace, Delays, Manic Street Preachers, Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Shins, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, Elkland - and lots more!); New Age (David Arkenstone, f.r.e.u.d., Stonecoat, Dagda - and lots more!); Jazz (Nelson Rangell, Nestor Torres, Spyro Gyra, Acoustic Alchemy, Chris Botti - and lots more!)

Movies:

I could go and on, here, so I'll have to come back to this topic another day!

Television:

Well, I personally haven't watched TV in my own home in 2.5 years. I got rid of cable for cost reasons, but haven't hooked-up an antenna for regular TV viewing yet, either. I utilize my TV for playing DVD - movies and TV series.

Some current shows I enjoy are: Heroes, Smallville, One Tree Hill, Supernatural, The Simpsons, South Park and Stargate SG-1. Past shows include: La Femme Nikita, The Pretender, any Star Trek series, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Flash, Farscape, In Living Color, Roar, The Black Donnelly's, Dawson's Creek, Mutant X and Highlander.

Books:

Mostly Sci-Fi & Fantasy stuff, but I also enjoy biographies and books on art.

Heroes:

Firefighters, paramedics, police and members of our armed forces. Saving and defending lives is their job and for those ready to give their life in the line of duty, we should all be grateful.

My Blog

A new name for today’s holiday (thanks, Kate!)

Now, mind you: I am neither sad, nor depressed.  I think that today is a great day for many people, but I'm into the love aspect - not all the fuss over gifts.  Money may not be able to buy ...

So, there's a story on Yahoo news about 2 bombings that took place earlier today.  The suicide bombers were women with Down Syndrome.  The bombs were activated remotely and the carriers were...

DAMNIT!  DAMNIT!  DAMNIT!  DAMNIT!  DAMNIT! Though they're both tragic losses, I'm actually more upset by this actor dying than I was about Brad Renfro. There aren't enough good wo...

Um....thankfully poor Chileans can’t afford embalming!

Wow!  How's THIS for a story? I especially love the line: "I started to cry and ran to get something to open up the coffin to get him out."  They can't afford embalming, but they'll be damne...

Did she love him, long time?

The following odd and creepy piece of news was on Yahoo.  The girl is stated as having a boyfriend - besides her (now dead) married lover, so I'm guessing this was a "crime of passion". Of c...
