Réjane Turrel

Réjane commence la batterie à 7 ans en prenant des cours avec Maurice Sonjon, à Lyon sa ville natale. En 94, elle monte sur Paris et poursuit son apprentissage pendant 4 ans à l'école Dante Agostini avec François Juskowiak et Bernard Basso, où elle obtient le Diplôme d'Assistant Enseignant. C'est ainsi qu'elle enseigne la batterie depuis 10 ans dans des MJC. Parallèlement à son instrument, Réjane se passionne pour les percussions afro-cubaines, c'est avec Sébastien Fauqué qu'elle va s'initier aux timbales et aux congas. Puis, souhaitant approfondir ses connaissances en jazz, elle étudie une année à l'Edim , dans des ateliers dirigés par Vincent Jacqz. Enfin, en 2005, sa rencontre avec Alix Ewandé, batteuse Franco-Camerounaise, lui permet d'élargir son jeu grâce aux polyrythmies africaines. Réjane joue depuis l'âge de 16 ans dans des groupes aux styles rock, funk, soul, latin-jazz, variété, et enregistre pour des artistes ( Taïs (album "Un autre chemin"), Sensitive To Light (album "From the ancient world", sortie prévue pour 2008)...). Elle est la batteuse des groupes Theo-Group (album en cours), Taï Phong et de la chanteuse Angie Doll.
Réjane started playing drums at the age of seven taking courses with Maurice Sonjon in Lyon, her native City. In 1994, she moved to Paris to do an apprenticeship for 4 years at the Dante Agostini School with François Juskowiak and Bernard Basso. This is where she got her diploma as a teaching assistant before becoming a teacher her self in the ‘MJC’. In parallel to her drum playing Réjane found a passion for Afro-Cuban percussion when Sébastien Fauqué introduced her to timbales and congas. Réjane wished to deepen her knowledge of Jazz so she decided to study at the ‘Edim’ school of music and to participate in workshops directed by Vincent Jacqz. Finally in 2005 her meeting with Alix Ewandé, a Franco-Camerounian drummer, permitted her to enlarge her playing thanks to the African Polyrhythms. Réjane has been playing drums since the age of 16, in rock, funk, soul, latin-jazz and pop groups. She has also recorded for several artists ( Taïs , Sensitive To Light ...). She 's the drummer for the groups called , Theo-Group , Taï Phong , and Angie Doll
