here is a piece of coverQUEEN interview by Lady Taylor:
The band coverQUEEN, granted an exclusive interview for the Lady Taylor, of the site www.queenbrazil.com. In briefing, we will be publishing it also in the Portuguese language.
Questions:
- How did the band start?? Tell US a bit about it.
Frederick Caramia (vocalist) : As we are Queen fans for a long time, we decided in 2005 to create CoverQueen with my brother Alexandre. Our goal is to celebrate the mythical band Queen, not pretending to be them.
- To the vocalist, what is like to "replace" Freddie Mercury?
Frederick Caramia (vocalist) : I WILL NEVER REPLACE FREDDIE MERCURY !!!! He’s unique. However, singing Queen’ s songs on stage is for me « a kind of magic ».
- Has any of you already had another band, or played another kind of music?
Frederick Caramia (Vocalist) : In CoverQueen, every one of us has a very different past and approach of music. I’m a tenor opera singer and a rock singer. I used to sing in differents projects. I play guitar and piano in other bands. I was singer and pianist of the rock/metal band “Feeling Machineâ€. I’m also a music composer and prepare my album.
Alexandre caramia (Drummer and backing vocals) : I am a film music composer and singer / composer of a rock/metal symphonic band.
Adrien Husson (Guitarist and backing vocals) : I’ve got two other bands. JNOUN is my hip hop metal fusion band and in the other one I accompany NAJA, a hip hop artist. I play jazz music too, with different instrumentalist sand singers.
Morgan Michaud (bassist and backing vocals): I used to play death metal, hardcore, funk, Rythm and blues and gypsy jazz.
Eddy Pero (keyboards and back vocals) : In my actual band called "Icar", I’m the singer-guitarist-keyboardist and I compose in a funky-rock style. I’ve been composing classical music and electronic music for theatre and TV since ten years.
- What are you dreams, as musicians?
CoverQueen
What’s really important to us is to work with really good musicians you appreciate. When you can also consider them as your friends, you can call yourself lucky. The other dream is to be really proud of what you perform.
Alexandre caramia (Drummer and backing vocals) : I must say that for the first time with CoverQueen, these two dreams came true.
- As you cover Queen songs, we suppose you like Queen... But which other
Band would you cover?
Eddy PERO (keyboards and back vocals) : We’re not that kind of musicians who play in a lot of cover bands. We do it with a great pleasure when it’s Queen because we love their music, but it’s not our goal to play for dancing nights or so far. The next step is to play our own songs.
- Queen without Freddie Mercury, Queen with Paul Rodgers... What do you
Think about it?
CoverQueen:
We think it is important to go on performing this wonderfully great music on stage. Freddie Died, we don’ t think Queen totally died at all. It’s great for Brian and roger to play on stage Queen’s songs. we think they can bring new things with Paul Rodgers.
- Now, would you like to leave US a message?
CoverQueen
We’d love to perform in Brazil. We think they’re one of the greatest audience in the world according to Queen shows. So, we hope to see you soon... Thank you for this interview and rock on !

ENGLISH VERSION
BIOGRAPHY
In 1991 November 24th, Freddie Mercury died. This was the end of an immense rock band.. and the beginning ot a new myth ! Indeed, few rock bands can mingle disparate styles such as rock, opera, funk, electro and write masterly orchestrations valuing the feats of its own lead singer.
Freddie..s sense of drama strongly influenced Frederick Caramia. He started his singer’s career at the age of 16, already covering some Queen hits. After studying lyrical singing with teachers of the ..Opera de Paris.., Frederick decided in 2005 to create a coverband, supported by his brother. Alexandre Caramia, multi-instrumentalist, plays the drums and shows equal vocal ease.
The first performances were welcomed by enthousiastic audiences ..most were faithful Queen fans. Thanks to their friends in the show-business, Fred and Alex have added great musicians to their team. A professional bass player, Morgan Michaud aka ..Morgus.. and a guitarist, Adrien Husson, who plays scrupulously Brian May..s solos, joined the Caramia Bros.
They cover Queen and are named COVERQUEEN, a tribute to Queen. Songs like comme « Tie your mother down », « I want to break free », « Bohemian Rhapsody », « Somebody to love », « The show must go on » are played with absolute integrity and respect. Their special energy on stage and the musical versatiliy of the musicians (all are multi-instrumentalists and back-vocalists) hold moments that can..t be missed for Queen nostalgics. "Here we are..."
