Mark Cawley was born in Coventry in the West Midlands, United Kingdom in the summer of 1969. A thriving industrial town choked by factorys of every decription. Coventry was once the car manufacturer of the world.

Factorys demolished to make way for housing and shopping centers. "Being brought up in a decaying city has had a profound effect on my music creation...which is still growing".
Marks first musical experiences was at the age of 8. "I bought a cheap spanish guitar from a summer fate at my school for about 10p. I didnt have a clue how to play the damned thing so i just leaned it against my shoulder like a cello and plucked the open strings lol. Not much of a start with only six notes to play with but i was fascinated....i got the bug". Marks musical roots probably began from within the womb.
"My dad was in a band in the sixties with Roger Lomas called The EGGY. Roger later became an influential music producer working with the likes of Bad Manners and Shawoddy waddy....if thats how you spell it lol. I actually saw Roger at a Hazel O Connor gig at the Fletch pub. Just before xmas. Had a bit of a chat, as you do lol".
It wasnt until he was 14 that Mark began to take music more seriously.
"The first record i bought was by Visage, Night Train it was called. Then i started to buy all the ex-jukebox singles from the local newsagent for about 49 pence each, amassed quite a collection i can tell you. Records like- I eat Cannibals by Toto Cualo and Adam and the Ants and stuff lol. They were made of vinyl you know lol. Proper records".
When he was 17 Mark bought his first electric guitar and a couple of chord books. Sitting up until the early hours learning to play old rock songs, the usual ...Stairway to Heaven and Deep Purples Smoke on the Water.
"When i was 18 i was joining bands and stuff as you do. Then i discovered Steve Vai....OH MY GOD...the guy could play, i nearly shit my pants lol. Hes like Beethoven only with a guitar. From then on i started trying to copy everything he played, not with any success ill add".
Now though Mark writes his own music as well as the odd remix for anyone looking for a new perspective to their sound.
