About Me

The History of Buy Polar Bear
Buy Polar Bear began as the acoustic project between Joshua Lachkovic and Matthew Brand; their zaney, wannabe-multi-instrumental songs hit home to no one's hearts and before more than two or three songs could be recorded they just gave up. Joshua Lachkovic decided he liked the name Buy Polar Bear and so when he got an Apple Macintosh in 2007, it was natural that his Garageband producing name would be Buy Polar bear. Buy Polar Bear in the mac form, evolved from using only pre made samples, to the stage where Josh (or hiphop name of JKL) thought he might start 'spitting' over the beats and continue a life long dream (sic) of producing hiphop music. At this point K.Lomax joined the group to aid the choruses on Triangles, which is still Buy Polar Bear's most played track on myspace. Following Triangles, K.Lomax's work wasn't as noticable but was often there in production sessions, and has always had a subconscious influence over the band. After hearing George Pringle, Joshua realised that perhaps it was possible to make good beats withoutan actual keyboard, and so his lack of musical knowledge taught himself what notes were what on Garageband's music typing. The expereince was beautiful and since then tunes have been in high production again. Mid November, Marc Wright who has been a life long fan of the band, decided to help out on a remix that JKL did of his friend's SquareBum's song 'Moonlight Robbery - Music to theive to), this led to a promotional video, and then later that night the creation of BuyPolarBear's most well produced track to date, a cover that is being kept under wraps until the album.
BuyPolarbear is toying around with various album names, and due to the dis-understanding of the current suggested name then it is likely to be changed. There will be 11 copies of the album burnt in the inital run of CDRs and will be available for free download by December.
