Originally formed as a way to get free drinks and party on gigs at the Jolly Roger, Magnificent Funktopus has grown into a collective of Portland musicians featuring a rotating cast of some of Portland's best young funk players. Led by bassist Dallas Huber, the band functions as a vehicle to connect Portland funk musicians playing a mix of hip R&B, 80's dance, jazz fusion, latin, and other covers along with some originals brought by various members.
