Bio:
Connie's lifelong passion for art began at a very young age; she participated in her school arts program throughout her academic career and majored in fine art. She joined the United States Marine Corps in 1989 as a Graphic Illustrator (4611) at Quantico Virginia (MCCDC), serving during Desert Storm.
Working primarily in graphite, watercolor/gouache, and occassional working with markers, colored pencils and pen & ink. Connie realizes her artwork by employing traditional techniques with the subtleties of these different mediums. Her artwork revolves around the feminine form; strong, independent, powerful, also; fragile, enchanting and ethereal, some human, some not. An important aspect of her work is that it conveys a sense of emotion, either in the eyes, pose, or interaction between characters, and that it invokes something the viewer can relate to. It has often been said that her characters have soulful eyes, expressions, and belong to a world all of their own.
She has recently been involved with various sketch card projects, for such notable properties as: The Lord of the Rings, Wizard of Oz, and the Shaw Family Archives Marilyn Monroe
