HeartBreaker, The Only Pat Benatar Tribute to See!

About Me

HeartBreaker started as the first Pat Benatar tribute in 1998 and is the only tribute band linked to Pat Benatars official website. At the time HeartBreaker was the only female-fronted tribute. To date we have played almost 200 shows and are considered the best at what we do. HeartBreaker averages over 3000 hits per month to their webiste. www.benatartribute.com Pam Edgar, the band's front person, has personally been considered to work with Pat Benatar as a back-up singer/keyboardist in the past and also occasionally works as a single Pat Benatar impersonator for Steve Beyer Entertainment at Las Vegas venues such as the posh Venetian Hotel on the Las Vegas strip.HeartBreaker has been joined on stage twice by a founding member of Pat Benatars band, Roger Capps. Roger was also the co-writer of Pats hit song, Hell Is For Children. This is a tremendous honor for any tirbute band. HeartBreaker has opened several shows at the world-famous House of Blues, Hollywood and Anaheim, B.B. Kings Blues Club, Galaxy Theatre, Pala and Normandie Casinos and has traveled to Japan, Arizona and Las Vegas. With a mailing list of over 1000, HeartBreaker takes promotions very seriously. For more information please visit their webiste at www.benatartribute.com For upcoming shows visit: www.benatartribute.com/upcomingshows ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ************************************************************ ************************************************************ **** ****STOP ABOVE PLAYER TO HEAR INTERVIEW WITH ROGER CAPPS**** **READ**TRANSCRIPT OF INTERVIEW: B.B. Kings Blues Club - Live Interview with Roger Capps 7-25-03, by Joe Caro. On July 25, 2003 HeartBreaker had the honor of being joined on stage, for three songs, by Roger Capps, the original bass player; a founding member, of Pat Benatars band and co-writer of Pats hit song, Hell Is For Children. To be joined on stage with a member of the original artists band is one of highest honors a tribute band can receive.Joe: Here we are at Universal City, Universal Studios City Walk. Were here with Roger Capps, the original bass player from Pat Benatars band, andRogerRoger: How do you do, hi.Joe: Basically, I just want to ask you, you know, youre the original bass player from Pat Benatars band. What made you decide to play with them here tonight at The House of Blues? (He meant B.B. Kings).Roger: Well, I mean, it really started a couple years ago. Pamela found me on the Internet and said, Hey Roger, are you the same Roger? And, I said, Yes I am dear, who are you? And we started a relationship on the Internet. And, she sent me to her website and I saw what they were doing and tonights the first time Ive actually heard them live and they blew the roof off, the audience loved them. And, they were gracious enough to invite me to play a couple of songs and that was all good, but when I got up there, I played, I havent played any of those songs in, like, nineteen years or something like that, 1984 was that last time. And, so we did You Better Run by The Rascals, and we did Fire And Ice, and Holy Cow! (laughs) I just jumped back into the set. I only missed a couple of notes, you w-o-nt be able to tell unless youre a bass player, or Pamela. But, uh, we, we were it playing just like [we used to], I got so tickled because there she is dancing around with a little orange t-shirt with the shreds and, and, the boots and the spandex. I enjoyed her so much. Her range is awesome. The band, a bunch of nice guys, just like Pats band was. And, uh, since I left them in 84, Ive never had the opportunity. One thing we talked about before the set was playing Love Is A Battlefield because that, that song came out after I left but I did the tracks on the record and its my favorite bass line of anything we did and I backed off on playing it tonight. But one night Im gonna come back and play that bass, line for Love Is A Battlefiled, because Ive never performed it live. And, uh that compositions just a monster composition. And, they do it really good. So, I think uh, my new hobbys gonna be over the next year or two years is to play all of their set, two songs at a time. Im gonna sneak up in their gigs and I think theyre gonna let me play.Joe: Well, Im sure it was a great, great privilege and a treat for some of the fans. Im sure the people that came out to see HeartBreaker in the first place are Pat Benatar fans.Roger: Absolutely, they would be, wouldnt they.Joe: You heard it, you heard it from the crowd. They knew you, they gave you a great cheer when you came out.Roger: Yeah, they were gracious. Well, thats one thing about the Benatar fans thats always been true, I find its the quality of Benatar and the high moral standards that we had, you know, as celebrities as people in the spotlight. [We] Always kept a real high profile, and family life and no drugs and all that, was very important to us. And, for Pamela and her husband to get a band together to keep that going is like really, really cool. And, I think that theyve got an even bigger future ahead of them, because I know that theyre writing some original stuff. Plus, I know some markets in Europe that are interested in getting them and so Im gonna help them out with that.Joe: Oh, thats awesome! Thank you so much for your time.Roger: Its a pleasure, absolutely. Its a rockin night I couldnt believe it. It was like the best time Ive had in years. Except for about three years ago I played with Pat down in Redondo and it was nice, they gave me a nice round of applause. But, you know, it was just awesome here at B.B. Kings tonight, really, really a treat for me.Joe: So you, play with Pat still, once and a while?Roger: E-v-e-r-y once and a while. Its very rare, very rare. But, yea, every once and a while.Fan walks by and says to Roger: Take care bro, your guys rocked tonight!Roger: Thank you, shakes his hand. ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ****ROGER CAME TO SIT IN WITH HEARTBREAKER AGAIN, JANUARY 12, 2005 AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES, IN ANAHEIM, CA AND PLAYED LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, LIVE, AND HE PLAYED IT WITH HEARTBREAKER.

You can't improve on what isn't yours you can only improve on your own. If it's "improved" that means it didn't work right in the first place!"
