Each card is graced with a image of a woman between the ages of 50 and 103 and words of wisdom and inspiration on the back of each card. These cards were created to allow women to take a quiet moment each morning or whenever the time is right and receive a message that will empower and guide them through out their day.We wanted to thank the almost 450 women who joined our myspace page over the last month, it was suddenly destroyed on May 5th so we have rebuilt a new page and hope to regain all our old friends!Historically, the word crone translates into crown or wisdom and is also connected to chronos, meaning time. In ancient days, elder women or crones were a respected and integral part of the community.Our society seems to be obsessed with youth, yet there are 630 million women over the age of 50 on the planet today. As leaders, counselors, teachers, grandmothers and aunties, we now have wisdom and diverse life experiences to offer. We encourage you to defy society’s view of older women. We empower you to honor this amazing time of life. Know that you are both wise and beautiful. -Lani and MelindaAfter Melinda and I created Wisdom of the Crone , we realized that the next deck in the trilogy that we would publish would be The Journey of the Maiden, ( www.journeyofthemaiden.com ) this deck of 54 cards was created to empower and guide young women everywhere. We have watched our own daughters go through so many trials and tribulations, coming to us for advise and sometimes not. We felt The Journey of the Maiden was so neccessary in such a challenging time. We have been thrilled by all the Crones out there buying the Maiden for their daughters, granddaughters, nieces and young friends.
