About Me

I love monkeys and midgets.

My Interests

Rugby (I played in college and men's clubs for almost 12 years. Unfortunately I had to retire due to health reasons. I prefer not to have a fused neck.)History (I hope to go back to school and get my masters and eventually my doctorate in military history. Maybe that will help to explain my heroes...)My puppy - Monty (He is now just a year old. I'll need to get some more recent photos up. He is keeping me busy.)Enjoying a nice fresh beer in the company of friends (Never pass up a good German, or if nothing else is available - English, beer)

I'd like to meet:

A woman that has drive and wants to accomplish something in life. Should enjoy trying new things, traveling and spending time with friends. Needs to be comfortable with who she is. I like women who are athletic and enjoy spending time outside. Austin is such a great city and it would be nice to have someone to explore it with.

Movies:

Way too many great movies to mention, but some of my favorites include: Life Aquatic, Rushmore, the Jerk, the Graduate, Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Dr Strangelove, Old School, Reservoir Dogs, Withnail and I, Baseketball, Bad Lieutenant, Taxi Driver, and Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels.

Television:

Simpsons (early years, lately the show has jumped the shark)Family Guy (so happy that they finally have new episodes again)Discovery/Time Magazine channel (outstanding documentaries about current and recent issues with all the people who actually influenced the issues, lots of fascinating info that you can't find on any other channel)Comedy Central (probably the channel I watch the most, just nice and relaxing)Also - Rescue Me, The Shield, My name is Earl.

Books:

I love sci-fi, history, detective and spy stories, and regular literature.Pretty much all of Philip K Dick (he wrote "Do androids dream of electronic sheep" the basis for Blade Runner), Kafka, Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, Paul Auster's "Timbuktu", John Keegan's "Face of Battle", Mark Bowden's "Blackhawk Down", and Thomas Mann's "Tonio Kroeger".

Heroes:

Marshal Gustav Mannerheim (1st President of Finland, personal friend of Czar Nicholas II, fought in 8 wars, spoke 6 languages fluently, hunted in Africa and Asia and travelled extensively throughout China on horseback in late 19th century)Arnold Schwarzenegger (Lived the American Dream, showed that even a foreigner with humble beginings could come to this country, risk everything and become a success in sports, entertainment, social life, business and politics. He is also a devoted family man who has dreams and aspirations and tries to live up to his ideals and beliefs. He also wants to give back to the people and country that have given him so much)Robert Fossen (my grandfather, a true gentleman, he taught me about honor, responsibility, pride, self-respect and respect for others)

Luck with Cars

I must be the most unlucky person when it comes to cars. This year alone I had 4 incidents with my vehicle. Back in January I hit the concrete median on Mopac, here in Austin, when some idiot swerved ...
