Adrenaline charged Melbourne 4-piece, PROCEDURE 286, bring to you their brand new EP Its A Shit Business, the follow up EP to 2004s Through Vacant Stares EP.
Mid 2005 saw change in the PROCEDURE 286 camp, with the band parting ways with long time drummer, JOF. In stepped Joel Cairns, previously of Sydney bands Murder and Blasting Process, stepped in to take over drumming duties, and instantly had a positive effect on the band. Joels addition to the band has been seamless, bringing with him a wealth of experience and excitement, as well as technical know how and drive.
PROCEDURE 286 hit Complex Studios in September 2005 working with up and coming hardcore producer Roman Koester (Picture The End, Sense Of Purpose), before heading to Sydney with the finished product, to work with mastering guru Steve Smart (Muse, Bodyjar, Mindsnare, Grinspoon, etc.) at Studio 301. The EP is a welcome injection of fast, substance filled hardcore that has been slowly disappearing from the Australian music scene.
Throughout the EP, the band shed a positive light on important issues such as racism, injustice and self belief, while also paying homage to Australian hardcore of yesterday, with a blistering take on the Voice Of Dissent track 'Dumb It Up'.
Since releasing Through Vacant Stares, PROCEDURE 286 have toured Sydney, Adelaide and Newcastle, most recently for the Newcastle Disconnect Hardcore Music Festival with over 15 of Australia's best hardcore bands. They have played shows with Mindsnare, Blood Duster, In Name And Blood, Horsell Common, Frankenbok, Picture The End and many more.
PROCEDURE 286 have also appeared on Where There Is Life, There Is Hope, compilation CD raising money for the Asia Tsunami Appeal, have been written up as independent upcoming act to look out for in Blunt Magazine and have also done their own live to air show on Melbournes PBSFM.
