Lucius Guardian is a five-piece band that started five years ago. Their ecclectic sound appeals to the ears of hard-core rockers, punk enthusiasts, hip-hop loyalists, and anyone who loves and knows good music. They manage to fuse Rock, Blues, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Reggae, skillfully and melodically. Then they add a little bit of Salsa on top.
Carl Jr ., (CJ) and Leo , the guitarists, were in two seperate bands, but came together to start a band that encompassed a sound that was unique and their own. Leo's brother ( Alvin ), was introduced to the band concept, and became the drummer. Later, Carl, called up an old friend, Cheyenne , who was focusing on a rap career, and was reluctant to come aboard as the lead singer or a rock group. The bass player, James , was the final note, to complete this band of brothers.
The first three months of rehearsing, Lucius played cover songs from, Stone Temple Pilots, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of A Down, Alice in Chains, Ect., Ect., and Pearl Jam. Thereafter, they decided to compose their own music. The first song they ever composed together was "Show Down". They now have over 26 original songs in their repetoire of future platinum record-setters.
They have played venues such as Whiskey A-Go-Go, (Hollywood), The Knitting Factory, (Hollywood), The House Of Blues (Hollywood), The Boogie, (Anaheim), The Vibe, (Riverside), and Angel's Road House, (Yucaipa), just to name a few. Their music has also been featured on San Bernardino's X 103.9 FM "Local Band Spotlight".
They are truly a band YOU MUST experience live. Lyrically, there is a something in this band that strikes a cord in anyone. They do not mimic any other bands in the industry, but they leave no "rock-stone" unturned.
