DJ? Yes, once a month I take to the decks at Black Sheep , the successor to the infamous weekly Goth clubnight at Leeds' legendary Bar Phono, the venue where it all began, back in the early 1980s. The Phono closed forever at Midwinter 2005, but the tradition lives in TheSubculture, still underneath The Merrion Centre. We're open 7 to 11pm every Sunday, playing all shades of Goth, past and present.

Music:

Inkubus Sukkubus. Nightwish. Within Temptation. Iron Maiden. Goth, Heavy Rock, and Gothic Metal. Classical, especially 19th century romantic. I like almost anything that has a good tune and is well played. Utterly hate all forms of Rap, and most forms of nu-Metal.

Movies:

Underworld. Lord Of The Rings. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, and spaghetti westerns in general. The Alien series. Star Wars. Terminator 2. Some horror, but nothing too gory. Action movies as long as they have a decent plot. Can't stand Stallone, but like Arnie. Female-fronted action movies where the females are portrayed as capable self-sufficient individuals.

Television:

Hardly ever watch it, but occasionally: Star Trek. The Bill. Casualty. Holby City. Newsnight, Panorama, and news and current affairs programmes in general. Horizon and science programmes.

Books:

The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings. Narnia. Mercedes Lackey's "Valdemar" series. Anything by Andre Norton. Loads more, the house is a library.

Heroes:

JRR Tolkien. Mercedes Lackey. Sigourney Weaver. Queen Victoria.
