Hailing from the streets of Whittier, CA, The Revolutionary Youth League (“RYLâ€), offers a powerful musical and social alternative to today’s mainstream rock bands. A multi-cultural affair of new scope, the RYL carries a message for the future inspired by the working class, the homeless, the fallen warriors of necessary change, while in effect nurturing the seeds of social progress through their positive, energy-laden performances. The band’s musicianship draws from an extensive performance background, its members having worked with artists as diverse as Celia Cruz and the legendary Afro-Cuban percussion master Francisco Aguabella to a plethora of groups in the underground garage band scene in the counties of Orange and Los Angeles (Southern California). Currently finishing production of their self-titled debut EP to be released through the indie label Belú Music in late Spring 2007, the group has gathered a strong team of engineers and musicians who have cut their teeth working with the likes of Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin), Joe Chiccarelli (U2, The Rolling Stones) and the great Joel Soyffer (Barry White, Bill Withers and Metallica among many others), while in the process creating some of the most forward-leaning and challenging music to be heard in the Southern California rock scene today.
