FOLSOM, reigning from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in the summer of 2001, and wasted no time self releasing a 3 song demo, which was followed shortly after by a string of West Coast showdates with Hoods, Ringworm, and Faded Grey.
Shortly after Folsom began playing shows, the only two venues in Las Vegas that would book hardcore bands were shutdown. This left Folsom with no choice but to build their own venue. Stu's idea was simple: build a room big enough for 50 kids in the middle of his family's junkyard and pack in as many kids who want to mosh, and dogpile until it gets shut down. The Hammer House was an instant success, and is now one of the most noteworthy DIY Hardcore venues in America.
With the Las Vegas scene thriving, it was time to go full throttle with Folsom. During the last half of 2002 and early 2003 Folsom played one hundred shows west of the Rockies, and released another demo with 5 songs, which they later supported by touring with the likes of the Hoods, Skare Tactic, Death Threat, and Terror. After touring in the fall of 2003, three more songs were recorded for a split on True Destiny Records with Your Mistake.
Since the successful split CDep with Your Mistake came out in late 2003, Folsom has remained relentless with their touring schedule, writing/recording new music, and booking shows in Las Vegas for other touring bands. In Summer 2004, Folsom released their first full length CD on Mike Hood's Westcoast Worldwide label, and now in early 2005, the band is set to release a follow up EP entitled "If You're A Viper" on Philadelphia's Spook City Records.
