About Me

Gwendy Joysen’s powerhouse vocals and skillful songwriting strike that resonate chord in her listeners...you know the one that excites and calms you at the same time. With varied roots in alternative pop, blues-influenced rock and folk music, her left of center songs cover the gamut but tend to dwell on the healing side of our humanness.Although she has opened for musical greats like Patty Larkin, her work often supports speakers & authors of great thinking. Gwendy’s newest single "Not Enough" has been selected as the theme song for GLBT publisher Rainbow Legend’s new book release & tour of DRAGONFLY STORIES! Joysen has opened for Best Selling Author Gary Zukav at Unity Village and for Best Selling Author Marianne Williamson with her amazing single, “Be the Change.” Her song "When I Change My Mind" was co-written with Alex Cordero and produced by Gwendy along with Justin Tricomi and Adam McGill of The Republic Tigers. This motivating & deep but light hearted song was written in support of the Complaint Free movement started by Rev. Will Bowen with his congregation, now dubbed "The Complaint Free Church."On her own indie label, DayFlower Records, Gwendy’s full length releases include her debut record, “…and miles to go” (2004) and her Inclusive Inspirational CD “Sacred” (2005). She also has several EP’s, singles & spoken word projects. Her anxiously anticipated upcoming CD "Love Is Stronger" is scheduled for release in early 2008. This new mix of tunes shows off Gwendy’s lyrical mastery, emotional maturity and her freshly seasoned production talents. She brings a wicked blend of vintage sounds and fresh sonic colors to this new record by not only her own skills but by knowing who to hire. With tunes co-produced by Justin Tricomi & Adam McGill, there is a young brilliance to this record that gracefully marries the excellence of experience, attracting listeners of all ages and influences!Over the years, Gwendy has been honored with the generous support & collaboration of such musicians as Bela Fleck’s long-time saxophonist extrodinaire Jeff Coffin (appears on “…and miles to go”), who has also played with the likes of Van Morrison and Delbert McClinton. Rich Aspinwall, who has worked with legends EmmyLou Harris, The Indigo Girls, Garth Brooks and many more, offered her his expertise and support as she grew as a young performer. Aspinwall produced & engineered cuts on her previous CDs and recently mixed her upcoming new release. She has worked with greats such as Rosemary Butler, background vocalist for James Taylor, and performed background vocals for A&M Records, Mercury, EMI & Forerunner. She has sung & written with Will Rambeaux (Faith Hill, Sherrié Austin), recording artist Patsy Moore (Warner Brothers), and Dawn Thomas (Anita Baker, Earth Wind & Fire, Faith Hill) to name a few.
