About Me

Sketchbook Pictures was set up in 2006 by Film Maker Dan Gitsham. We specilise in darkly funny, absurd and twisted short films.
Our first production is HOW TO PICK UP GIRLS a dark and twisted black comedy about a girl, a guy and a lesson in how to pick up girls?
PREVIOUS CREDITS
FILM EIGHT (writer/director Dan Gitsham, 2006)
Funded by the UK FILM COUNCIL 'DIGITAL SHORTS SCHEME' Live action cartoon about absurdity and fate. A black and blue comedy where anything goes.
The film is currently on the festival circuit and has already played in festivals such as Encounters in Bristol and Dead by Dawn in Scotland.
INSIDES (co-writer/director/co-producer Dan Gitsham, 2004/5)
Shot for £50 and lots of begging and borrowing. A dark and atmospheric horror film about a lonely man and the insides that are about to come out!
'Insides by Dan Gitsham introduced a completely contrasting genre. Incredibly atmospheric, I was unsure of what to expect as the lone man wondered around his empty, cluttered house. At the discovery of an oddly placed video cassette inside an stuffed toy under a floor-board – having been a reluctant viewer of ‘The Ring’ - I knew it was time to hide. With masterful tension-building, the film quickly escalated into a terrific chamber piece of horror and was a great introduction for the newcomers to the festival.'
