An Alter Ego

An Alter Ego is a fresh new Mornington Peninsula duo featuring your average female, Tara, with her delightfully stunning, good looking, intelligent and witty brother Brad.
After performing a series of successful cover shows, playing a non-standard set encompassing pop, dance, alternative, metal and rock, ranging from R.E.M. to Jamelia to System of a Down, this brother-sister duo decided that the world was ready for their original material…this may have been a miscalculation. They were well received in country Victoria, their yearly extravaganza at the Condah Pub is one not to be missed.
Both members have a lifelong trend of dabbling in music and performance, from Brad’s aspirations to form a Metallica cover band, his stint in the Victorian State Children’s Choir which ended abruptly when his voice broke, and his love of fine fabrics and accessories, to Tara’s principal role in Young Dancers Company 2006 season and as leading lady of alternative outfit Wilberforce. They have been writing individually since their teenage years and together for the last few, and in 2004 created the new craze genre Inter-Racial Folk, Blues and Techno, that has since taken the world by storm. Their recent collaboration of songs and sounds in late 2006 saw the birth of An Alter Ego – a delicate fusion of genetics, combining a ghostly voice atop spanish-style metal folk on an electric/acoustic guitar. Drawing from a range of styles, they have created a unique musical experience which has appealed to a variety of audiences and continues to attract support.
They are currently working on their debut album and recording at 'Dodgehouse Studios' with Tim McMillan, a taste of which can be found above.
