TONY MEDINA is a man who has sat on Texas Death Row since September 13th 1996, for a crime HE DID NOT COMMIT. Because Tony is on death row, HE DOES NOT HAVE any access to computers or emails. WE wanted to help him spread the word about his situation, so we created this myspace page to support him and try to find him help. All the legal facts you see come from Tony’s appeal. Tony is blessed to have the support of a strong European anti Death Penalty Organisation as well as other great friends, but he also needs YOUR HELP. He is an innocent man that needs you to reach out to him, You can make a difference if you WANT TO. SO WHO IS TONY MEDINA? Tony Medina is a son, a brother, and the father of 3 children who have been forced to grow up without him in their life. Tony is a man that admits he made many mistakes and only seeks a chance to try and correct those he can. Tony was 21 years old when he was taken from the streets of Houston Texas, where he had spent so much of his young life…. The same streets that eventually helped shatter his life. Like so many young men of his generation that grew up in the ghetto Tony became trapped by a world of his own choosing. Despite growing up with a close family, circumstances led Tony to choose a life of crime and the gang life. Life is never a straight path, and Tony’s Path certainly had it’s share of twists and turns. By the time Tony was released from the boot camp program where he had spent eight months he was 20 years old. His second child, His daughter was born while he was there, a fact that helped push Tony into wanting to change for good. He hated that he was locked up for the birth of both his children, so after getting out Tony decided he had to make a better life for them. He made the decision to get away from the gang life which had ruled his world for so long. Yet even though he had made up his mind to get away, the gang life was not through with him. Just as he was getting ready to begin a new year with a new life, his old life threw him on last curve. Tony was charged, tried and convicted for a drive by shooting that evidence proves the police and prosecutors KNEW he did not commit. But due to his history with the police and his past gang ties, they wanted him off the streets… even if meant putting a innocent man on death row and letting the guilty one go free. Since being sent to Death row Tony has tried to fight for his life as he also grew into the man he is today. Tony has written to at risk kids to share his story with them and counsel them to stay away from the same mistakes which cost him his life. He became an extraordinary artist, creating mixed-media poetry for a book he hopes soon self publish. He has evolved into a political activist who, like so many others before him, has been persecuted for his views.
