would never have got a myspace if someone hadnt made one for me and am diluting it by making too many to confuse my apparent identity - if u dont know me, you wont get to know me this way...
b4 myspace days internet for me was something that i would only PUT STUFF ON, refusing to search for, read information (prefer real people's information), buy anything (creating electronic money bankers world), avoiding porn (difficult) etc. i was always with the real world activists/musicians and felt there was more power in a face to face with 50 people than a million virtual contacts....... (especially in london with all the embassies round the corner, i would feel different if i lived in hull probably)
at the meetings (real world) there were always a few "internet activists" who were frightfully superior about their "organisation" which often consisted of no more than one man and a website with no real world activity at all... they commanded the ideology of the 9-11 to 2003 peace movement and were probably more responsible for us NOT stopping the war than the SWP - they were definately more responsible for our failure than MI5 or the fictional anunaki illuminati that they kept scaring away all the normal people with - when all we had to do was persuade them that attacking iraq was not a good idea - a very easy task if we could've avoided this intellectual bollox pouring out of the internet....
these people demanding their voice be heard were always particularly useless at HELPING out with real world stuff - the kind of "can you carry this box up the stairs please" stuff, was always responded to with a kind of coded "carry a box? my dear boy cant you see im here to intellectually dominate your organisation?" - i carried a lot of boxes for those fuckers and they did nothing real (except absorb the funding and energy)
every grassroots action i have ever organised or participated in has had as its participants mainly friends and family - real contacts - and though some have been VERY well advertised on the internet, noone ever shows up, it's always the people you know/spoke2 - i came to thinking that advertising action on the internet was just a way for people to watch and have their opinion from a distance and to tell the sectret services and police what you were doing...
i got complaints from loads of people when i stopped putting actions up on the globalizer.org site and i was like, well why didnt you ever show up then? i wasn't putting them up for your entertainment, bored of the cosby show? lets see what the movement's doing this week? watch and laugh at another pitifully attended failure - only so cos i wasted all this fucking time on the internet - if i hadn't bothered i often felt the action couldve been massive

during that primary peace movement period i often wished there was no internet... how many million activist man hours were lost as boys got broadband to put up their ideas about how to save the world, failed to do that cos they got lost in the technical, and spent the next 6 months wanking over porn?
there was only a shade of difference in activist attitude that would have put us in the alternate possible future in which we DIDN'T attack iraq, where "we are winning" would actually be true like it was in '95 - we are now losing, despite being proved right about the war the economic system and the enviroment...
The movement hit, in my opinion, a ten year low in 2006 and recovery is slow and painful while the new world order marches on at a hell of a pace... and as it does so, resistance becomes harder
i will take some time to read your collective sites though as i am in a bit of a state of not knowing what to do and i want to remain open minded
the above is an excuse as to why i've not done so so far
