Bruno Ladislau started his bass studies at the age of 14 in the city of Rio Claro, with teacher Edson Barreto and then with his brother Newton Barreto. At the age of 16 he was already a member of the bands ‘Calamidade Publica’ and ‘Odin’. Together with these bands, Bruno played in many music festivals promoted by local schools.With the purpose of devoting his life to music, Bruno began having classes with teacher Ricardo Matsuda in the city of Campinas. In 2001 he moved to São Paulo and started a bachelor's degree course in electric bass at Faculdade Santa Marcelina (FASM), which he concluded in 2006. Simultaneously, he started studying with the famous bass player Zuzo Moussauwer at the Conservatório Musical Souza Lima, aiming to deepen his knowledge of bass into the rock universe.Two years later, Bruno joined the Dream Theater cover band ‘Scenes from a Dream’, with which he stayed until late 2007. With this band he had the opportunity to play more than 100 shows, and record some classic songs like Metropolis Pt1, Dance of Eternity and Fatal Tragedy.In 2004 he participated in the recordings of the first album of the ‘gaucho’ guitar player Denison Fernandes, called ‘Extreme Day’. This album also had the special participation of great Brazilian musicians of international fame, like Kiko Loureiro (Angra), Edu Ardanuy (Dr.Sin), Joe Moghrabi and Leandro Caçoilo (Eterna). During the year of 2005, Bruno played a lot of shows and made a lot of workshops together with the guitar player to publicize the album. By the end of the same year, he started having classes with teacher Gilberto de Syllos aiming to, then, deepen his knowledge of bass into yet other musical universes: MPB and Jazz.In the year of 2006 he started writing for ‘Cover Baixo’ magazine, as a musical score transcriber, and collaborating on cover articles as well as trying new equipments like bass amplifiers and effect pedals. By the end of that year, he participated on the Guitar Player Festival together with the young guitar player João Milliet, getting great reviews from the specialized media.On the following year he was invited to join the Brazilian instrumental group called ‘Fossari Group’, with which he recorded his first authorship work. With this group, Bruno played at ‘Virada Cultural’, a festival organized by the Town Hall of the city of São Paulo, and CEU theaters. He participated on the 1st Bass Style Festival promoted by the Conservatório Musical Souza Lima, together with Felipe Andreoli (Angra), Gilberto de Syllos and Adriano Gifoni. He gave workshops as guest musician for Yamaha, demonstrating the new bass collection of the brand at ExpoMusic. On the same year, he was invited to join the solo band of guitar player Mello Jr. and drummer Mauricio Leite, he also formed ‘Double Bass’, a bass-duo with Gilberto de Syllos, and began his studies of acoustic bass.
