In no particular order... The Secretary; Betelgeuse; Labyrinth; Un Chien Andalou; Amelie; Delicatessen; Hate; Cowboy Bebop series (technically it's television but who's counting technicalities anyway?); The Princess Bride; Young Frankenstein; Ed Wood; Edward Scissorhands; A Clockwork Orange (yeah, I know, who doesn't); Raising Arizona; PIG; Donnie Darko; Full Metal Jacket; Schindler's List; The Secret of Nimh; Requiem for a Dream; Batman (first movie); Batman Begins; Nightmare Before Christmas (well I'm trying not to be predictable... E for effort?); Disney Classics... yep, including Pollyanna; Legend; Kill Bill Vols. 1 & 2; Heathers; Breakfast Club; Pee Wee's Big Adventure; Big Top Pee Wee ; Mr. & Mrs. Smith (oh c'mon, it was a sexy movie); Sex, Lies and Packing Tape (yes, packing tape. If you were at my work's Christmas party, you'd understand); The Life Aquatic; Singin' in the Rain; Cover Girl; Citizen Kane (to my high school English class... it was the sled you dumb bastards! The sled!); Groundhog Day; Six String Samurai; Belladonna's Greatest hits; Monty Python's Holy Grail; Pulp Fiction; Die Hard; Blade Runner; Dune; The Indiana Jones Trilogy; Harold and Maude (thanks to Ry-Ry); Goonies; Ghostbusters; Some Like it Hot; Big; Nosferatu; Cabinet of Doctor Caligari; Metropolis; Ginger Snaps trilogy; Lost Highway (favorite part? Glass coffee table to the forehead)...
Venture Brothers, Rocko's Modern Life, Eek the Cat, Family Guy, the old X-Men series, Tomorrow People (from old Nickelodeon), Pete & Pete, The State, Aeon Flux, Groovy Ghoulies, The Prisoner (still haven't finished it), I Love Lucy, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Mork and Mindy, Goth Talks skits on newer SNL, old SNL (Belushi old), Batman (animated series), Batman Beyond, Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Gargoyles, Pee Wee's Playhouse... And pretty much anything on the Discovery channel
Still Life with Woodpecker; Junky; The Yage Letters; Death of a Transvestite and Killer in Drag- Ed Wood Jr.; The Story of O (I liked the general concept of the book but the actual writing itself was horrible); The Oedipus Cycle- Sophocles; there are a lot more books, which I'll get around to listing but I've been working on these lists for a while now. I'm going outside. Currently I'm reading a new book called Sappho's Leap- Erica Jong; I'm almost done with it and I really wouldn't recommend it...Ammended: 08/16/04 I finished Sappho's Leap a while ago. It sucked. I would, however, recommend Villa Incognito by Tom Robbins. Currently reading: Psychopathia Sexualis (it's bloody archaic from a sexual as well as moral standpoint); The Mists of Avalon, (I think I had best pick up the first novel because I don't know what the hell is going on); Re-reading Snow Crash, (love that book!); that's about it for right now... stock is getting thin. I think I'll probably go to the used book store at the library this week.Ammended: 10/16/04 'Stiff- the Curious Lives of Human Cadavers' is a totally entertaining and informative book. It's exactly what it sounds like. I recommend it. 'Sex with Kings'. It's about the lives and influence of royal mistresses throughout history. Entertaining but the set up can become slightly tedious with it's going back and forth. I've spent waaaayyy too much money on books this last month- I need to get cracking.Ammended 8/3/07: What else would I be reading? Yes, along with the rest of the world, I'm reading the last Harry Potter book. The only differences is that they all finished their's on the 20th and are on their fifth go around. I'm on my first. I also picked up two Neil Gaiman books. Looking forward to reading those. BTW, I liked 'Smoke and Mirrors', it's a quick and really entertaining book of NG's short stories.
My Parents- the best I ever could have asked for; Ryan- who, no matter what, has been there. Jared... best boyfriend ever... even in spite of himself. Dirty Dave - if any of you out there meet Dave and he doesn't hate you, consider yourself one of the luckiest people ever. This guy has got to be the most witty and cynical bastard I have ever met. Holy crap he kicks ass! Kerry Hyatt and Brandon Aylward- with out them I never could have been the person I am today - which is not so bad. Fran Davis- one of a kind and one of the most amazing, original and brilliant individuals the world was lucky enough to have birthed, known, and will eventually emulate.
