I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

From as far back as I can remember I have always been a music fan. I have a son and daughter, great friends and family, and a long-suffering husband who I think could have done a lot better than me. Aside from them, my entire life has revolved around the music I grew up with and wherever I am I usually have one of my favorite artists on. I also like discovering new music with the sounds I like, and promoting them by way of adding them to my friends. If you see an artist you have never heard before, stop by and have a listen. I am continually searching for and adding my favorites, old and new. Peace

Music:

70s glam/prog/rock/pop, esp. Led Zeppelin. JIMMY PAGE! SWEET! Slade, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Queen, Bowie, Marc Bolan, ELO, AC/DC, Mott the Hoople, Yes, ELP, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Alice Cooper, et al. If its 70s and it rocks I probably like it. Asia, GTR, Dream Theater, 70s bands that made comebacks and continued on and released solo work. Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Jon Anderson, Geoff Downes, Mostly Autumn, Mike Oldfield, Tony Carey. Heaven forbid I forget the Beatles. Great new bands on Myspace- Sunfighter, Nick Swan, Blind Atlas, Yellowhouse, The Reasoning, Darkwater, Scream Arena.
What Beatle are you?

Movies:

Peter Pan, of course. The Song Remains the Same, The Wall, Tommy, LOTR, The Hobbit, Narnia, Wizards, Rock n' Rule, Heavy Metal, Allegro Non Troppo, The Last Unicorn, Blade Runner, Almost Famous, Star Wars, Chocolat. Pretty much any sci-fi/fantasy/horror. The Village, Sixth Sense, Signs, and foreign independent films.

Television:

Doccos on biblical archaeology, religion, science, history, weird travels, hauntings. I am loving Torchwood! Dr. Who, Life on Mars, The Naked Archeologist. History and Discovery Channels.

Books:

Anything by my favorite authors Stephen King, Anne Rice, Amy Tan, C. S. Lewis, Tolkien, Acharya S, and the journalistic work of Cameron Crowe. But probably my favorite novel of all time is 100 Secret Senses by Amy Tan. It explores the depths of family relationships and what really defines family, ancestry and history, past lives, and the intense impact that the death of a lover can have on future affairs. Just enough supernatural element to keep you hooked. Highly recommended! I am also revisiting The Holy Bible (who, me? yes, me!) as a source of not just inspiration, but for its literary and artistic value, plus what research is now corroborating with history and science, and new theories and ideas about all the old familiar stories and characters.

Heroes:

All good, honest and real people who get thru life everyday.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way?

Lately I have musing over the concept that you are either a leader of a follower. The former being the highest achievement, the latter being, at least in common opinion, everything from a refuge for l...

Top 10 Best Guitarists, according to VH1 (well just see about that)
