Band Members: Derek Cornish - keys , vocals , drums .......basically it's one guy with a keyboard and a 4 track. We're a dime a dozen.
It's the songs that matter.
Influences: Dead Can Dance , Depeche Mode , Comsat Angels , David Bowie , Coldplay , John Lennon , Kraftwerk , Cure , Radiohead , Chameleons , David Sylvian , U2 , Postal Service , New Order , Psychedelic Furs , Bob Marley , Madness , early Ministry....................In the end , you can list anyone you want and who knows if anyone is gonna hear those influences. I continue to find inspiration in new and old music. I need a constant influx of new sounds to keep things fresh. I haven't written anything new now in a few years....but I know the day will come soon and I can rejuvinate then
Sounds Like: AS you can hear for yourself , I really don't have a style , Everything I do sounds totally different from the previous recording. But out of over 600 songs I have written , this is what I would call the best 4." GAME OF LIES " - Possibly the most crowd pleasing song I have ever written. It has a very Depeche Mode / Dave Gahan sound to it. That's no accident. I was trying to write a " dance " song. This song is the latest. The other 3 were recorded in the 90's. I will try to change these as often as I can so no one get's bored." LULLABYE " - is what I would describe as Coldplay meets John Lennon meets Cocteau Twins. If that combo sounds stupid , so be it . written in 1996 ." EVERYBODY LOOKS LIKE YOU " was recorded in Northport , NY in the fall of 1989 with my first band DREAMWORLD. It has a bit of a CURE influence mixed with Ocean Blue. I still think this is one of my best songs. I was only 22 and my voice was a bit shaky , but overall I think this is still good." EPIPHANY " was recorded at home in 2004 . I took the lyrics from an old ( bad ) poem I wrote as a teenager. The sound is pure ULTRAVOX. So I guess I'm not jumping onto the Hip-Hop wagon anytime soon.
