About Me

HOla Amigos!... I am an accomplished Latin dancer and an official Zumba fitness instructor. Originally from Medellin, Colombia, I lived in New York and St. Louis before moving to Chicago. I was the co-founder of the Viva Dance Troupe in 2002 which performed Salsa and related styles in numerous venues around the Midwest. I was also the co-owner of Club Viva, the first Latin and World music dance club in the city. I was a principal salsa instructor there and have also taught at St. Louis University and other venues. I've had the privilage to train with renowned Salsa instructors such as Eddie The Salsa Freak(L.A), Abel Peña (L.A.),Maria Cristina Martinez (N.Y.), Rodrigo Guzman (L.A.) and Jayson Molina (P.R.). I have danced professionally choreographed pieces with L.A. Ritmo and partner Oscar Barrantes. Dancing for me is not only a form of entertainment but also a great form of expression. I believe that dancing helps express emotions in a safe and healthy way and helps your body connect with your soul. I am in the process of getting a Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy.Check out my classes at www.boocoo.orgHOT Myspace Layouts
