Lena Michelle, born Michellena Jackson, is originally from the south side Chicago, IL/Country Club Hills but resides in Atlanta, GA pursuing her goals of become the future of R&B, Soul and NeoSoul. Lena came from a very musical background, with her father, aunt, uncle and many cousins able to sing and/or having some involvement in music. As a child, her dad introduced her to many different types of music including his favorite jazz, old school and R&B. At a young age, she found in interest in it, but not taking it seriously until about 11 years old. That was when she had her first solo at Allen Metropolitan CME church in Chicago, IL. From that point on, IT WAS A WRAP! In elementary through high school, many remember her as the girl that was silly but could really sing. She lended her beautiful and melodic voice in competitions, talent shows, fundraisers and church concerts. As a college student at Clark Atlanta University, she performed in many local talent shows and karaoke nights just to be heard, even taking second place at a show singing "Nobody's Supposed to be here" -Deborah Cox. She just recently performed at EvoSoul: The Vu's first album release party that had a great turnout. She performed for relief efforts for Katrina and continues to prepare for the day her dream will come true. Also auditioned for the Lion King on Broadway...which was a wonderful experience!
