Influences:

My influences are simple they are people that have either personally made a difference in my life or those that have impacted my life significantly: Terrance Howard for mentoring me and teaching me how to always put my best foot forward and to surpass all boundaries in Hollywood. Will Smith for just being himself and opening the doors for many modern day black comedy shows on TV. Ice Cube for taking Black Hollywood to another level..he's doing his own thing...Daring 2 B Different! Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Salt & Peppa, TLC and Ms. Jackson if ya know it...for putting Diva's on the map for the Hip Hop Generation. Russell & Run Simmons for introducing the wonderful world of Hip Hop to America on a whole different level. Beyonce, Ciera, Aaliyah, Missy Elliott, Fergie, Christina Milian - the modern day Queens of Soul that keeps pushing the boundaries and opening doors for me. Raven Simone and Hally Barry for influencing me to get started in this crazy business. My male influences are T.I., Timbaland, Luda, Scott Storch, Brian Cox, Trey Songz and many more brothers that hold it down with their unique beats and sounds...hopefully one day to work with them. Lastly, my brother Chris whom was killed last year by some young haters...I thank him for showing me how to be myself and live for me and dare to be different. He was a suave Kool Kat, a playa, with his own genuine style that most admired and some hated, but he fought for his soul and stayed true to himself to the very end. I love him and miss him dearly. I only wish he could see me now!

Sounds Like: Hmmm..not sure whom I sound like. I just dare to be different, as my brother always told me- "Don't be like them, Do you!". I am not a copy cat or packaged artist. But if you had to put a marketing label on me, most compare me to a young fresh Fergie because of my style and some say that I remind them of an old "Lisa Left Eye Lopez" when she first started in the game. It is cool to be compared to these great artists, especially since they are my idol. But I would prefer to be "Just Nesa". I just want to be a normal teen with a R&B/ Hip Hop Style that could reach other teens across America that will make them sing to my hooks, and dance to my beats. That would make me happy. I just want to empower other teens especially yung girls through the messages in my song, whether its about being proud to wear your weave girl, to being proud to be taking care of yourself, or talking to you about your first love in my lyrics. It's all good, Let's just make the music "Do what its gonna Do".
