Amethyst are a six piece Epic metal band from Portsmouth; combining heavy 80's style riffs with Opratic style vocals and dramatic keyboards.
Formed in 2004 by Sam Carter-Brazier and Jamie Bannon, Amethyst have gone from strength to strength growing and maturing as band coming Runners up in the Wedgewood Rooms Showcase Battle of the Bands in 2005.
With the arrival of Matt kennedy in late 2006 Amethyst went about recording their debut EP Beneath the Proscenium. Out now! (please message for more information)
In their 2 years as a band Amethyst have managed to play with bands such as BREED 77 and LAST STOP CHINA TOWN and also with many local Portsmouth ledgends including; Enochian Theory, Tinnitus, Facelift wired and many other bands.
