About Me

CHECK OUT rockfordiabetes.org .
Currently, there is an estimated 7 million people in the United States alone that are diabetic and don't even know it!!! Type 1 affects an estimated 12 million to 24 million people worldwide. Also an estimated 56 million more people have what is know as "pre-diabetes" in which they are at risk of getting Type II diabetes and will develop into diabetes if the right precautions are not followed, i.e. diet. There are a lot of estimations, but here is one solid fact, Diabetes is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.
Rock for Diabetes is an Not-for-Profit Organization out of Chicago that started in 2007. Our main goal is to help spread the word about Diabetes to as many people as we possibly can, so lives can be saved and questions can be answered if more people can recognize the symptoms and help get many of these people diagnosed as well as get healthy. There are so many estimations because people just don't know.
This organization was started by a group with one thing in common; a passion to cure diabetes. Knowing the struggles and complications that are associated with this disease, we decided that we couldn't just sit back and do nothing.
But we can't do this without your help. So please join us in the fight for a good cause! Put us in your top friends, copy our banner, get a shirt, spread the word.

My Interests

Spreading the word on Diabetes. We support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) and the American Diabetes Association.

I'd like to meet:

GO TO THE INTERVIEW SECTION ON WWW.ROCKFORDIABETES.ORG AND CHECK OUT THE INTERVIEWS WITH SOME OF THE BANDS THAT SUPPORT US!!!

We would love to get the support from as many small to huge bands out there. Nothing spreads the word faster than a microphone!

But musicians can't do it without their fans. We need your help too, to help spread awareness. You don't have to have diabetes to fight for a cause. In fact, 99% of Americans know someone with Diabetes, the majority of them are family members.

We would like the support from diabetics and people who support and love someone with diabetes. The more people that help us, the more people that we will be able to help.

Everyone has their side to tell. Tell us how you deal, complications, good or bad. Send us your story and we will post it in our blog!
