About Me
Hey, folks-
In 2007, the Southern rock band BLACKFOOT, best known for the songs "Train Train" and "Highway Song", is back on the road again! Formed in downtown Jacksonville, Florida in 1969 at the notorious "Comic Book Club"... along with contemporaries The One Percent (aka Lynyrd Skynyrd)... the original Blackfoot band "rode the Southern rock wave to the top", through the seventies and well into the 1980's before disbanding. During that time, our live performances inspired the term "Southern metal". There's way more to the story... more than I think will reasonably fit on this page. If you're interested, you can read more about the 15-year history of the original Blackfoot band (as I remember it, anyway) at my website, www.siogo.com. When I left Blackfoot in 1984 I had no idea that twenty years later, in 2004, we would re-form and hit the road again, but here we are, still rocking hard in 2007! MIRACLES HAPPEN! You can find out more about Blackfoot today at www.blackfootrocks.com. In addition to playing lead guitar with Blackfoot, I also host "The Smokestack", a four-hour Southern rock and boogie radio show, on XM satellite radio. Of course, in addition to Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Outlaws, Marshal Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Blackfoot, .38 Special and all, I can't resist playing some Cream, Free, Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, Mountain, ZZ Top, Pat Travers, Govt Mule, Deep Purple... the list goes on and on! You get the idea. It's on the air every Saturday evening from 8:00 PM to Midnight (ET) , on X-Country (XM channel 12 and DirectTV channel 810). Please join me when you can (on "the X" and at Blackfoot shows), and tell your friends! Thanks for everything! Charlie Hargrett
