The Stooks

The foundations for The Stooks were cast back in the early part of the 21st Century. Ade and Dave hooked up to share a love of acoustic plunking and cups of tea which culminated in a few tunes worthy of a wider audience. A spell as a 3 piece, followed and the first gig, under the name Plus Guests, kicked off at Needham CH. The two piece format was resurrected shortly after and a degree of experimenting culminated in the second gig, again at Needham CH, where the renamed ‘The Sticks’ played to a packed house. An over-reliance on electronics and technology resulted in some slightly mismatched bass lines and drum beats, however the crowd seemed to appreciate the general direction the sound was meant to be heading. A back to basics approach was adopted, following the Needham experiments, and The Stooks were born. Consisting of drums and guitar, a bluesy, retro rock sound developed. Further gigs followed, mostly supporting The Chaps, and generally to delighted audiences! Catch them at a venue near you soon.The Stooks no longer gig due to Ade wanted to go solo ( This didn't really work because Ade was the drummer)
