About Me

My favorite word is duende. I like the way it sounds, but I really like its definition in English. I love to laugh and have a good time. I love dancing. I had a great time in law school. People who don't take a critical look at their own views from time to time disturb me.
On a more personal note, I fight crime in my spare time. My spandex suit was designed by Donna Karan and is the hottest thing to come out of her studio in years. During my lunch the other day, I came up with the solution to Fermat's missing proof and a way to make milk and oj mix into a perfect breakfast beverage. However, I forgot both ideas when "Hey Ya" came on the radio. That bummed me out, but golly that song is catchy. To cheer myself up I went out and fought crime for a few hours before retiring to a beirut tournament. Send 'em back!
I'm approaching 1.5 years out of Boston. I had a great time there and would like to thank everyone who helped to make that possible. A very special thanks goes out to the hardworking people at Budweiser, Miller, Captain Morgan, Patron, and the lovely ladies of the greater Boston area. Take a bow!
And suddenly I'm approaching my 1 year anniversary in Los Angeles, the city I'd belittled over the years. But I have to say that I'm coming around slowly buy surely. There's definitely a charm to LA.

My Interests

Social justice, public policy, debating politics and religion, beirut (beer pong), wiffleball, wine tasting, basketball, Trader Joe's double cream brie, being a ham, endeavoring to learn languages that I will eventually only master a couple words in, crazy nights out and chill nights in and vice-versa.

I'd like to meet:

Here's the formula:
Bust size X2 - Waist X3 + Hips + yearly income/1000 + Face Rating[1 to 10] X5 + vertical leap[inches] + 2000/100M breaststroke time[seconds] + IQ/3 + FC Ratio*10 = SCORE
If SCORE 1034, then I would love to meet you.

Or I guess if you're fun and have a good sense of humor, I'd appreciate it if you decided to say hi. Thanks! :-)

Music:

I enjoy a lot of different kinds of music. When just listening I give big extra points for political messages and raw emotion (see: RATM, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and Eminem (yes, I'm serious about Eminem))

When I'm dancing, just give me some room and a good beat. I heard Kleinenberg on NYE this year. That was some keen dance music. Of course, hip hop, old school, 80s, 90s, etc. is all good by me as well. Best three pop artists to dance to: Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson.

Movies:

Once again, way too many to list. I also give points for political statements in movies as well (e.g. Farenheit 9/11, V for Vendetta, Who Killed the Electric Car?, and Good Night and Good Luck) Some apolitical top picks are Swingers, Office Space, LOTR, American Beauty, Fight Club, American Pie, Shrek 1 & 2, Happy Gilmore, Shawshank Redemption, Dead Poets' Society, T2, Wedding Crashers, and Monty Python's Holy Grail. And they'd better be in widescreen.

Television:

I loved cartoons growing up (read: through college and after). Batman TAS was awesome. However, the new sugar in the Kool-Aid is Boondocks. Recognize

I don't watch much TV regularly, but the Daily Show and Colbert Report kick ass. Thank you www.thedailyshow.com and occasional podcasts of Colbert.

Books:

Dancing Wu Li Masters, Catch 22, the Sun also Rises, Lucifer Principle, Odyssey, Longitudes and Attitudes, and Harry Potter is pretty cool

Heroes:

My mom would probably be the only person that I count as a hero, but I'm inspired by anyone who consistently has the courage to fight for principle or say "fuck off" to the majority. Sadly, there aren't many visible people in this category anymore.

Obama locked up my vote.

In a previous blog, I said: So I guess my biggest worry regarding Barack is that it might be too late for him to run.  It’s the worry that maybe DC has already taken it’s toll and he&...

That duck is ANGRY!

OK, now I don't condone what the mascot did.  It is assault and could expose the person in the costume to criminal charges.  However, it is still hilarious. Apparently that beatdown...

Cheney was right about Iraq... in 1994

When I saw this I was not even sure I could believe it was real at first.  After all, how could it take five years (since the initial build-up to the invasion of Iraq) for someone to find this vi...
