My Interests

The Booking Function Defined:

The primary function of a booking agent is to bring together Talent Buyers and Artists in the market place. Contracts and provisions must be negotiated in the best interest of both Artist and Buyer. The agent will administer contracts, collect a deposit (when required), and immediately inform the Artist's management of all respective booking information. Successful agents are highly organized, efficient, effective and hopefully, ethical.

Some Artists have exclusive agents, non-exclusive agents, or a combination of both. Upon soliciting bookings, the agent issues contracts, collects deposits, and forwards all contract information to the Artist's management. The industry standard commission rate for booking agents is 15% of net after expenses (i.e. production should not be commissionable).

A distinguishing characteristic of Music Group Entertainment is that we fully advance all production and performance related details for every show, regardless of what service(s) we are providing for our client(s). Thus, in many cases we double as the Artist's production manager, which is extremely beneficial to both our Artists and their clients.
