i was (not so) recently made aware that i have a rigorous shower routine which apparently is not “normalâ€. this includes, among other things, squeegeeing myself off with my hands before i get out of the shower to increase the life of the towel. if you need clarification please ask.a reluctant optimist, a wannabe cynic.
i like the concept of the cumulative effect. i like my consonants hard.i also like:
music,
new york,
booze,
music, and
music ......and lately i've decided that my mind runs on some weird complicated algorithm kind of like google maps ....constantly calculating and re-calculating the fastest and most efficient ways of doing everything....and i feel like i spend quite a bit of time fighting against it ....and i saw this steve albini post in response to someone who asked if he agreed that music has sucked for at least the last ten years: Albini: "Nothing ever stands out. You have to look for anything you might like. Clearly you have given up looking. I think you're a defeatist and you are destined not to enjoy music. If you wait for other people to thrust music under your nose, you'll be listening to nothing but crap for a long while, because that's what gets thrust at us. Music is not a spectator sport."
