About Me

I'm Chris. I'm 30, and a chemist in a crime lab. I just finished grad school with my MS in chemistry.I'm a huge sports fan, especially a Pistons fan. And, I'm not just a bandwaggon jumper either. I used to frequent The Palace all of the time. I've been a fan through every era and lived through players that have come and gone like Orlando Woolridge, Darrell Walker, Mark Macon, Terry Mills, Loy Vaught, Grant Long, Stacey Augmon, Mikki Moore, Bison Dele, and the ever so spectacular 3 H's of Hunter, Houston, and Hill. If you know who these players are, consider yourself a die hard and someone who I'd get along with.NOTE- Even if you can't name those players, I hold no ill will toward fair weathered fans either. :)I'm also a Cedar Point addict. It is the single biggest reason why I like this time of year. It used to be considered a pilgrimage. My buddy and I used to go every year after we got out of school since we became old enough to drive. He's since left for California to take a job, so I'm left looking for replacements- could it be you?I've lost 46 lbs in the past 7 1/2 months (lost 48, but took back two over the holidays). I had originally planned on losing only 25, but I kicked ass doing so. Now I'm trying to continue getting in better shape. Maybe I can get a six pack if I work extra hard. :)I also like movies, reading books (DaVinci Code, Creighton, Tolkein, or anything else that looks good when I'm NOT discouraged to read by the drudgery of text books and chemistry journal articles), learning new things (I must admit, I like history, especially ancient egypt stuff... museums are enjoyable at times... feel free to laugh at my bit of nerdity), and even just hanging out with friends enjoying a laugh at an inside joke or something stupid we have done in the past. And, I could seriously write the greatest book ever about bad dates that I've been on. But, I'm not discouraged. There's gotta be someone out there I can stick with!If I sound cool, say hi. Even if I'm not cool, still say hi.I'm relocating to Austin, TX to take a job there!

My Interests

I work out 3-4 days a week.I'm usually open to trying things. It's the company more than the activity itself that makes it a great outing.I just took a trip to DC, part on business and the other on vacation. It was a good time. I highly recommend the auto tour at night of DC and the monuments. My class went and we had a really good time.I also like playing CoH. :-P I also like bowling, sports, movies, golf, shooting pool, or even just hanging out with friends.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone fun.

Music:

Alternative. Favorites are Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Live, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, and other stuff off of 89X. Classic Rock is pretty cool too. Some of my other favorites are Rob Zombie, My Chemical Romance, and AFI.

Movies:

Lord of the Rings, Office Space, Star Wars, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, The Patriot, Silence of the Lambs, James Bond movies, MIB, Hunt for Red October, Crimson Tide, The Matrix, The Saint, Independence Day, Adam Sandler (Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison are the best, and the Waterboy is pretty good too) movies... I'm pretty flexible. I like comedies, action, and suspense movies.

Television:

Sports, Myth Busters, History Channel (yes, I know I'm a nerd). The Universe is one of my favorite shows. I'm a HUGE Pistons fan... I always watch their games.

Books:

The DaVinci Code. Anything written by Tolkein or Michael Creighton. I haven't read a whole lot other than textbooks and scientific papers as of late, unfortunately.Jumped the gun again, sorry. Read the 'about me.' Don't you hate jerks who keep repeating the same thing in their profile? :)Now starting to read Pihkal for work.

My Blog

School before a semi-long weekend.

I really love having Thursday off.  I'm ecstatic about waking up and not really having to do anything.  While I am working Friday (for comp time), I think this whole weekend is going to be r...

My life, as of today.

Alright already...

I turned on SportsCenter in order to lull myself to sleep.  What do I see?  I see an in depth analysis of Iron Mike getting his ass kicked by some dude named McBride.  He subsequently a...

And my crazy blog comes here

I guess I'll try to keep this one up.  I've never been good at sustaining these for long periods of time, but I can make another attempt. I'm really not good at putting a profile together.  ...
