I want to meet someone who realizes that there is a strong difference between passion and compassion... and who is capable of both emotions.
I want to meet someone whose presence in my life will enhance my happiness and success, not detract from it.
I want to meet someone whose ambition, intelligence and honesty compliment mine, and whose eyes are kind enough to stare into forever.
I like songs that mean something... leave the yelling for when I go to work and deal with the public. Matchbox Twenty and Third Eye Blind are my two favorite bands... and I really like Rascal Flatts, as far as guilty pleasures go.
Movies are one of my favorite things in the world. Right now, August Rush is my favorite film. The Shawshank Redemption, the Bourne films (The Bourne Ultimatum was my favorite), A Time to Kill, Empire Records, and Narnia, are some of my other favorites.
LOST is finally back! And Prison Break is awesome. Friday Night Lights makes me cry. Buffy is an all-time favorite. Dexter is refreshingly insane. Law and Order: SVU is an addiction.
I love quote books. I read textbooks for fun. Thomas Hardy is one of my favorite writers. I cried when I found out Kurt Vonnegut had died.
I am currently reading a few books simultaneously:
"The Other Boleyn Girl" by Phillipa Gregory so I can enjoy the romance and beauty of love, lust, and the struggle for power.
"I was inspired to buy Bruce Feiler's "Walking the Bible" because my Israel trip has given me such a curiosity for the history of my faith.
"And, in order to help me answer some of my own questions on God in a scientific world, Carl Sagan's "The Varieties of Scientific Experience" is on my bedside table.
"Lastly, the book "The Physician" by Noah Gordon is about passion, healing, and love in the eleventh century.
My Grandmother, and I miss her. My oldest brother, and I love him. My parents, and I am grateful for our close relationship.
Carl Sagan; an intellectual, if ever there was one, who urges people to believe in God AND science... a view I wish I could accept without hesitation.
And, I think the "Make a Wish Foundation" and "St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital" are the most amazing, selfless, and important charitable organizations in society. Someday I will do my part to make a difference like they do.
