About Me

Hey everyone. I don't really have much to say. I'm smarter then the average bear, better looking, but I'm humble when you actually meet me. What the hell am I saying, I'm not good with things like this(writing about myself). I live a pretty dull life so I live vicariously through others I guess, no thats not right. I'm a loner yet a party animal too. I'm content with my life in other words.

My Interests

Travel, debate, adventure, camping, playing chess and go, those are a few. I'm really not meant for myspace, youd have to meet me in person to get to know me.

I'd like to meet:

I get along with all kinds of people...really Id like to meet everyone.

Music:

I love all music, yet I have no real favorite. I enjoy classical music, 80s and oldies alot(since my mom and dad played it alot in our house). I enjoy gangsta rap and metal if its got a good beat. Really Ill listen to anything if its worthwhile. I like movie scores(John Williams is a genius). Lifes too short for bad music

Movies:

I watch more films then the average person, not as much as Quentin Tarantino or Roger Ebert, but pretty close. Its hard to justify online the films ive seen that are of high quality, but somes films that have had a big impact on me include, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather,The Godfather Part II(ok, I didnt see it until really late, so sue me) Star Wars,The Empire Strikes Back, Fight Club,THE DARK KNIGHT, a woman under the influence(by john cassavetes), Monty Python and the Holy Grail,Patton,Raiders of the lost ark, Die Hard, The "Dollars" trilogy, the Wild Bunch,Shoot the piano player(a sentimental favorite),A Bronx tale(another sentimental favorite) Rio Bravo(sorry for calling it Rio Grande. I first saw it a long time ago and ans stupidly thought it took place in mexico),The Man who shot Liberty Valance,The WHite Sun of the desert, Faces, The War Zone, seven samauri, Rashomon, Tokyo Story(Ive yet to see more by Ozu), stupid absurd comedies, The Decalogue,The Rules of the Game,The 400 blows, Resevoir dogs, Sunset Blvd.,The Best Years Of Our Lives,The Wizard Of Oz,Yojimbo, Menace II Society,Casablanca, James Bond movies,Ironman,Floating Weeds,Juno. Manos:the hands of fate, turkish star wars, plan 9 from outer space(just kidding about the last 3) and tons of exploitation films(most memerorable one in a while:Cryptz). There are a few other "favorites" that i forgot that ill add over time.

Television:

I LOVE reality tv, I dont understand the hatred towards it. Not all of it(I just couldnt get into Flavor of love and cheaters is a terrible show), cartoons, game shows, survivorman, the history channel, are you afraid of the dark, unsolved mysteries, sightings, those Celebrity Jeopardy! skits from SNL,old nick, The Twilight zone and other anthology shows, various sitcoms like Fresh Prince among others, etc

Books:

I also read a ton so I cant pick out any real favorites, although I tend to favor sci/fi and fantasy. Russian literature is obviously some of the best stuff ever written, and there are many authors out there who try to emulate the themes therein, some succeed and some fail. Hemingway deserves his reputation.Gargantua and Pantacruel by Francois Rabelais is hilaious and one of the best satires around.James Joyce(especially for "Ulysses"). Treasure Island is perhaps the best "pure fun" book I ever read.I like James bond books(in addition to the movies).I LOVED the Revenge of the Sith novelization by Matt Stover. Henry James is a great writer. Madame Bovary is great. I also collect much on ancient history(really all history-Len Deighton is excellent) and mythology(which runs in tandem with my love for Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, don't worry Im not a geek). I think American Psycho is probably the best written book in the last 20 years. its so hard to pick favorites since there are so many. Most of what I read is Nonfiction, but cant think of any clearcut favorites at the momment. A few I can name at the are "The places in between" and "The Prince of the marshes(aka "Occupational Hazards") by Rory Stewart, "Into the wild" by Jon Krakaur,"Guns, germs and steel" by Jared Diamond, Kon Tiki by Thor Heyardahl, Walden by Thoreau,"Einstein and religion" by Max Jammer,"A savage war of peace" by Alistair Horne,The Dinosauria,The Ants by EO Wilson, countless biographies, most books about history(Steven Runciman fucking pwns), books about pirates, Im only scratching the surface here. As for philosophy, its a plesent diversion.lol, Ive read quite a bit of philosophy and Ive had some nights thinking about the complexity and or utter absurdity of the world, according to that philosophy.Aj Ayer is a good read.Plato obviously,William James, Nietzche, the article "whats it like to be a bat","Anarchy,State, and Utopia" by Robert Nozick is brilliant(well, at least it appeals to my senseabilities)I want to read more by him. as for economics, Milton Friedman and Ludwig von Mises. stephen hawkings, "a brief history of time" and max jammer wrote interesting stuff about Einstein and quantum physics. My list totally ignores a bunch of other good books I've read.

Heroes:

The Holy Trinity, my Parents, Luke Skywalker,Batman, Peter Pan and many more(like Rufio)
