I am considerably more rock 'n' roll than you....

About Me

I'd rather be on holiday. Actually, I'd rather be anywhere than here.....Sony Network Walkman - lots of metal, book, sangria, buttie, sun, beach, ocean, almost naked woman on lounger next to me. Nice.

Keeping an eye on Malaga!

Read your fucking bulletin boards, you might miss something......

My Interests

Beaches barefoot. Mountains booted. Hot sun. Cold wind. Nights out in strange places. Nights in in comfortable ones. Saturday afternoons at the footie. Cold beer on a hot day. A nice red wine on a restaurant terrace watching the world go by. Cooking. Spain. My Christine. Our children.

I'd like to meet:

Pass along this small tribute, copy this code.

Music:

Good God, how long have you got? Too many, too many. The list would never end, but current playlist includes:
Audioslave (Cornell is God)
System of a Down
DragonForce
Sepultura & Soulfly
( I have no allegiance either way, they're both my friends! Max & Igor, I love you both!)

Alter Bridge (Tremonti? Awesome.)
Black Label Society (I've just about forgiven them for the Bradford debacle last year. Get yourselves back - and I want guestlist motherfuckers....)
Skindred Pretty much on permanent rotation at the moment, absolutely fucking awesome!

Long term faves are:
Soundgarden (the best band in the history of the world. Ever.)
Pearl Jam
Alice in Chains
Mother Love Bone
Temple of the Dog

(in fact pretty much the Seattle sound - don't call it grunge, it's just rock, except Nirvana. Don't like 'em. Don't get 'em.)

The thrash "Big 4":
Anthrax (bring back John Bush)
Metallica
Slayer
Megadeth

Pantera
Damageplan
(RIP Dime)
Chimaira
Arch Enemy
Trivium
Mastodon

and all the other metal stuff that's as heavy as fuck and makes you want to explode

The Wildhearts (lots of love to Ginger!)
and any other melodic music that not only rocks but makes me smile and gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside!

Hardcore stuff:
Biohazard
Cro-Mags
Crowbar
Hatebreed
Helmet

Punk, from the Pistols through the present

Alt stuff like:
Tool
Coheed & Cambria
Faith No More
Janes Addiction
(again, it's all rock)

Stoner stuff:
QOTSA
Fu Manchu
Clutch

Southern twang like the Supersuckers, motherfuckers...

and don't let me forget classic classic rock like AC/DC, Sabbath, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Van Halen Motley Crue and all that other late 70's early 80's music that got me into this shit in the first place!

Honestly, the list goes on forever (and even includes crazy shit like Mano Negra and Mozart(happy birthday you crazy motherfucker!))! As long as it's loud, rude and dirty, I'll give it a listen. Don't matter if it's slow and sludgy or fast and frenetic, it all pretty much sounds good to me......just as a final couple of words though, mySpace has opened up so many new bands to me, it's outrageous how many great unsigned and truly gifted bands there are in this community. Take some time to search and you'll unearth some diamonds. I know I have!
And anything sung in Spanish! Metal espanol siempre!

Movies:

I like no-brainer, leave your intelligence at the door action fuck-ups. If it's Ukrainian Underground cinema, I'm not THAT interested. Honestly.

Oh. And Kevin Smith's stuff. It's about as close to intellectual viewing as I get. I know. You're thinking "Jay and Silent Bob are intellectual?". Don't get me started, I wasn't even supposed to be here today.....

Television:

Documentaries, but not "reality tv". Unless you count "Shameless" as reality?

Books:

Hunter Thompson.
Steven King.
Tom Clancy.
Dan Brown.

Heroes:

My parents. Hendrix. Chris Cornell.

My Christine, without whom I'd be nothing. She's made me the man I am today and I love her with all my heart, all my soul and every last shred of my being.

My Blog

Top 24?

I have 51 pages of friends on this stupid fucking thing. How the hell am I supposed to choose another 16 contacts for a "Top 24" from over two fucking thousand? Bollocks. Fuck "Top" whatevers.....

Skindred, Corporation, Sheffield 1.12.06

Hmm. Interesting one this. Not because of the gig itself, Skindred were excellent, just the lead up to it was quite weird. It was Christine's first "proper" gig, (Status Quo don't count, they're too s...

Playground games

There were two chants in our playground circa 1975 (strangely, the same playground where I now pick my daughter up from school). It consisted of a line of about 50 snotnosed, scabby kneed little gobsh...

New ink.

I'm so tired. I got new ink yesterday and I think the trepidation leading up to it and the endorphin comedown afterwards has fucked me up. I woke up at midnight last night and remained awake until my ...

Is there something wrong with this?

I know I've just got bands on my top 8. I'd be too afraid of offending someone close to me by not having them on my top 8 so I have no personal friends on there, only bands. But three of those bands a...

Bruges Weekend 9th - 12th June 2006

It was high quality! My resolution that I wouldn't be having any daytime drinkies at all was short lived, we all met up in the pub before going to Hull and several pints of Grolsch later we set off.Ha...

Benalmadena/Arroyo de la Miel 8th-21st May 2006

We had a good time. First time we'd ever been to Benalmadena, despite me parents raving about it for the last 22 years! Morning flights from Doncaster on the Monday morning, nice and steady flight, if...

Free speech for the dumb?

I have no issues. I'll make that clear for starters. I'm neither racist nor sexist, I'm not homophobic and respect peoples choice of lifestyle and religion without question. I have friends who are whi...
