Biography
For just over two years now, the Pink Lizards have been playing with the current line up to crowds which have been increasing in size over the short time they have been together. The rock experiance which started in the small town of Finedon, with four friends from Huxlow Secondary School playing covers just for the fun of it, has now led the lads to writing all of their own material and wowing crowds at such venues as the mighty Cavern Club in Liverpool.
The Pink Lizards story starts just over 4 years ago when brothers Sam and Gavin wanted to form a rock band for a bit of fun and something to do. They called on the services of Sumner who was good friends with the brothers Desborough and the best drummer known to the lads, and Dan Salisbury to complete the rock quartet. This was the original line up, Salisbury on vocals, Sam and Gav swopping roles of guitar and bass, and Sumner on drums. However this did not work out and after a couple more line up changes in a very short space of time the band landed itself with Chris Limb on Vox, Sam on guitar, Gav on bass and Sumner on drums. After a couple of little gigs at Finedon Dolben CC this is where the lads landed their first major gig, Party in the Park infront of 750+ people at Finedon Dolben CC. Unfortunately due to circumstances out of the lads control, Chris was unable to do this gig, but it was too big of a thing for them to miss so they brought in Dave Earl on guitar and the line up changed to its current positions.
In the two years with the current line up, the Pink Lizards have been going from strength to strength, especially since the recording of their debut EP, Massive Small. This basically means a Massive album for a Small band, and with tracks from Massive Small, the Pink Lizards were able to come 5th out of thousands of bands on the My Music competition on Channel 4 and finalists in the 'Jersey Live 07' competition.
The lads now only do gigs where they play their own material and are currently working on a new EP which is set to be very successful for them.THE ALBUM UNKNOWN YET IS SET TO BE RELEASED EARLY 2008 WITH SINGLES AS WELL WE THINK. SHIT HOT IS A GOOD WAY TO DESCRIBE THE SONGS ON THEIR NEW ALBUM. THATS ALL FOLKS.
