About Me

…it all started in the year of 1978: Sex Pistols Punk Rocker Sid Vicious was arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen was found in their New York hotel room. Atari 2600 is released in the UK the game cartridges were as chunky as the modern Game Boy. New Wave was the new punk. This was fashion with all the aggressiveness and menace of punk but with the style of the Teddy Boys of the 1950s. And in my apartment in the suburbs of Lisbon we had a BW TV and my father listened to records and tapes from the Pink Floyd and The Beatles and the first picture they took me was BW. I remember we only had 2 TV channels and the Portuguese Revolution was just 4 years ago. Also the first Rubik cubes were released and Pacman and Tetris will rule arcade games taking over Atari's Pong. We didn’t have Internet, Video, Mac computers or CD players but instead we had Super 8 Film Cameras, amazing 48K Atari’s and Spectrum graphics, colorful Record and Cassette Players, and lots really lots of books in my house filled with the most poetic words. In the middle of all of this grew my eager for screwing around with music with my very early insomnias listening to my father's vintage radio, jamming with the Tuning button and recording tapes with a shitty microphone overlapping old records playing with the wrong pitch over the tuning noise and my silly Yamaha keyboard and kinky xylophone and other noisy toys...

Sounds Like:+++++"The Sampling Life blends a touch of retro with Intelligent Dance Music, bringing a little additive of an half-concious cinematic emotion. There's a calming feel to the moving muzik, giving you a sense of inner perfection. This artist brings a unique bout to the music world, from the beautiful synths to long drawn emotion." review of Experimental Aircraft by DIGITAL GLR
