Erk Tha Jerk

It’s not an easy task being yourself these days, especially when the music industry is full of declining record sales, hype, and one hit wonders. So when you finally come across pure talent, you have to hold on to it because you never know when it’ll come around again.
At fist glance, you wouldn’t assume that Erk was a rapper/producer/songwriter, but he embraces his trademark glasses,sarcasm,and laidback persona and uses it to his advantage. All of which you can hear loud and clear in his music. "Being myself is a must. That’s the kind of music I make. Real sh*t. I dont feel the same everyday. Some days im on my get money sh*t, then the next im on my chill at home sh*t. I just make sure everybody can relate".
Erk started taking his music career serious his junior year of high school. Competing in numerous talent shows and freestyle competitions. From there he met J. Myers and London (a.k.a. K.I.T.). The response he got from his metaphors and witty one-liners made it evident that music wasn’t going to be just a dream.
In 2003 Erk joined an up and comming group named Kali Fam. The group enjoyed national success and impressive record sales, but after they returned home from tour, Kali Fam went it’s seperate ways leaving Erk to become the movement he is today.
Currently you can hear Erk tha jerk’s signature sound on 106.1 kmel with songs like the self produced track "Get money". He is also the man behind Samm’s hit single "Come on" and Kafani’s "Lean in it". Production credits also include the bay areas newest stars The Diligentz and Los Angels heavyweight G. Malone.
You can expect Erk to do what he does best. "Make real music for real people". With his lastest mixtape "Hood Nerd" being released and his production in such high demand, Erk should have no problems stayin on his "get money sh*t".
