About Me
The Ian Loche Project is simply a Solo Effort by John-O McLellan, dedicated in memory of Two Band Mates and a few other area Musicians that left this Crazy World before Their Time!! This gave Birth to the "self-coined" CD title, American Dreampyre. The I.L.P CD is a celebration of Their Lives that were taken away too soon!! He has been active as a Drummer for over 25 years in East Tennessee & S/W Virginia. John-O had some professional success in the late 80's playing in a few Metal Bands. In 1989, He joined Crystal Vision performing through-out the region for a few years. The Band released their debut Album in 1994. Crystal Vision had some Rock Radio support that kept the Band performing Shows and Working. C.V. was to begin recording their second Album when Tragedy struck in October of 1996. Guitarist John Harder & Vocalist (Keyboards) Marsena Ratliff were shot & murdered by a Teenager that Police were chasing for burglary on Roan Mountain. (WRONG PLACE, WRONG TIME.) The Murder Trial went on for 2 years. After This Horrible Loss, John-O resumed working as a songwriter and doing sessions work in various studios. He found employment as a Technical Director and Master Control Operator in a few Local Television Stations. John-O has performed w/ some Power Trios locally in the Tri-Cities area in recent years, including playing drums for the " Best Damn" Black Sabbath Tribute Band around, BORN AGAIN !! " I really had a Blast playing some Killer Shows with that Band!!"
The making of American Dreampyre began with recording the Drum Tracks. "It was quite a task because there wasn't a band to key off of." I tried to play with as much feeling as possible with the help of some charts I could cue from to help keep me from getting Lost during recording." "Next, I recorded all the Guitar Tracks , after this point I finally had something I could hear to do other parts, so it was like recording with a band." The Next Stage , I was Damn Lucky to find some Super Guest Musicians which included, Bill Abercrombie (Black Jesus) on 5- String Bass.""Randall Sword ..boards/Piano/Organ." Chris Reddick (D.J. Red) Featured some Turn-Table Skills on a few songs." "Tony Rominger, who performed several unique woodwind & Pipe instruments in addition to being the Owner of Note-orious Sound where this Album was Recorded and Produced. "Tony truly made this ambitious project possible." Finally, I recorded all the multi-Vocal Tracks." "Then the Fun Task of Mixing & Producing. " "So, basically another Damn Drummer makes a Solo Project, ha,ha,!!" "I would like to Thank Tony, Bill, Randall, & D.J.Red, for all their hard work, especially Bill, who performed on 9 out of the 11 songs .."I had a lot of fun making this CD!!" "Thanks for supporting the Cause Dudes!"John-O has performed in various States all-over the East Coast and traveled in many parts of Europe. In Scotland, He found interest in his Family Roots .This is where the name IAN LOCHE came from!! "Thanks to Justin Summers for the Cover Art, Aaron Sharpe of TRICITIE'S NIGHTS.COM.""Darby from The Great American Tattoo Co. DAD'S CD'S and Mountain Aire Music."Thanks and Lots of Love to My Family!!" "This CD is also dedicated to Mike Mahaffey & "Hoss" Williams.. Two Great Guitarists that will be missed!!"
