Ted & The Polka Dots!

"Ted & The Polka Dots!" Was born from the idea of "Mike Vee" from Houston Texas, who is the "Scrub-Board" player for "The Zydeco Dots". Mike, "Tee Potter" and I all went to College at Murray State. Back in 1983, Mike talked me into playing my Accordion by playing Classic Rock Oldies mixed with an Array of Polkas and later Zydeco. When I left for Kentucky due to a job, I began a Zydeco Band...."Zydeco Bon!", and Mike & Tom "dropped" the Polka part of the name and they started their band "The Zydeco Dots" In any case, I've been playing Zydeco since 1988 and am doing well at it, but my "Polka Chicago Roots" began tugging at me. I felt that I owed a few songs and soon, a CD to my Polka Legacy. My Uncle Jerry Smith, was a Polka Star in Chicago, who influenced my love of playing. I'd see him leaving for gigs and I would tell myself...."I want to be like him someday" He was a great Sax player. His band would get those Polish Girls spinning on the dance floor! My first song "Uncle Jerry Polka" is all about me wanting to go Polka with him. Second song is dedicated to my dear Polish Mother and how she raised us in our Polish Household. I mixed the bridge with a "Russian/Ukranian" sound reminiscent of a mother rocking her baby to sleep in a crib. Almost sad/meloncholy. Third song is another Ukranian sound Happy song about a shy boy's hesitance to approach a cute Bakery Store girl. Hope you enjoy
